No doubt I will get hails of abuse for posing this question...

In my mind, the internet should model the real world. I.E. people should treat each other with the same respect they would expect in outside world.

Now...lets say you have a conversation with someone in a bar. If you felt their grasp of vocab or pronunciation was not to standard, would you start abusing them?

I would hope not.

What if you go into a restaurant and look at the menu. Then you notice there are spelling mistakes. Would you start calling the owner a retard, or tell them to get a dictionary?

Again, I would hope not.

So why is the net different. In my view, its because you can't see the person. Its easier to be rude to an image or message on the monitor, without associating it with a real computer.

Also about 1 in 10 people in the real world would pop you one on the nose...

just my opinion...

now I think I'll wait for replies full of spell checks....

He basically said to ignore the old laws and to follow in the new laws he set forth.... so therefore does that not make the old testament redundant?

I see a strange Catholic church that I didn't convert to... a church that calls itself Catholic but has all but left tradition in the past and has instead taken up something they call "progressive". The progressives in the Catholic church are many, and likewise there are many progressive parishes, convents, and retreat centers. These progressive places (whether a parish, retreat center, or convent) are known for such things as enneagrams, reiki, eco-spirituality (a.k.a. earth spirituality), feminism (calling God "she"), polytheistic meditation (Buddhist, gods, etc; & misuse of the labyrinth in such a way), drumming circles, medicine dolls, public sponsorship of earth spirit retreats that involve paganism). With that said, is the progressive movement the true Catholic Church, and if so, what does that mean for the legitimacy of the Catholic Church?

I find that atheists have tremendous perspective and that many times if they disagree with say Christians then that is perceived as 'hatred' when many atheists have good common sense. Haven't you considered that many atheists were once religious at one time and then made a decision that made sense to them. I find them very valuable on this forum. (Buddhist)

I'm a christian and I really enjoy listening to Joel Osteen on Cd or watching his tv program. When I was growing up, I had a love but also a fear of God, and Joel teaches how much God loves me, and I can now feel that love and my life has become better. I'm happier and good things are happening for me.

Just wondering why so many christians are down on him because he isn't preaching fire and brimstone and repent.

I think we all know we have to repent for our sins, but don't some of those scary preachers miss the point on how much he does love us?

I'm open to read your opinions. I realize in the last days there will be false prophets, so I don't want to be hypnotised by one but I truly don't feel like he is preaching a message that contradicts the Bible.

Do you? I'm open to your opinion

Robin

What if you're right? What if he was just another nice guy? What if it's true they say the cross will only make a fool of you?
What if you start dig way down deeper than your simple-minded friends what if you find a thousand more unanswered questions down inside and that's all you find, and what if you pick apart the logic and begin to poke the holes what if the crown of thorns is no more than folklore that must be told and retold?
but what if your wrong? What if there's more? What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for? What will you do when you find out that you were wrong and say to yourself "what have I done"..... and then it may be to late.

John 20:30 Many other signs also did Jesus in the sight of his disciples, which were not written in this book.

John 21:25
But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written.

I Corinthians 11:2
Now I priase you, brethren, that in all things you are mindful of me: and keep my ordinances as I have delivered them to you.

2 Thess 2:14
Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the traditions which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle.

2 Thess 3:6
And we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the tradition which they have received of us.

2 Timothy 1:13.14
Keep the good thing committed to they trust by the Holy Ghost, who dwelleth in us.

WE can believe in Evolution, when it strarts out with something.
But here is the catch!! Where did that something come from, for Evolution to start. God the Higher Power, starts from nothing (Creation--Mean to brange forth from nothing). How can you believe in Evolution when you can't explain the one thing that starts then process, WHERE DID IT COME FROM,
And how was the complexity developed from something so simple,as a one cell.

Has she said anything in regard to the way the progressives have manipulated Vatican II (with their liberal actions/activities such as clown masses, enneagram, reiki, eco-spirituality and feminism)? What does has she said- not only about the abuse by the progressives, but also about the legitimacy of Vatican II itself?

Why can God not be worshiped in a miriad of ways? How con anyone have the audacity to say they know the limits of God? Could not God have directed different cultures to worship him/her in ways that flowed freely with that culture? If you as a mortal put limits on God does that mean God has limits?

I went to church yesterday cause my kids were in a play.
The play was over and the sermon was on and I listened and I only laughed out loud one time.
Anyway at the end of the service like all these people make a bee line to my hubby and I . One lady says to me" "I am so shocked you came here, you think you will be back next week?"
I dont know if I took the "Im so shocked" part wrong or what but I looked at her and said "I seriously doubt it"
This apparently pissed her off as she proceeded to tell me how rude I was.
Whats wrong with people like this?
