Al Sharpton never was the leader of "Afro America" in the sense that he had a majority following of black Americans who respected his opinion and judgement on matters concerning their community. Still, he does have a major media presence and some status as a spokesman for African-Americans.

Al Sharpton is just a representative for the Racist blacks in the U.S. .
He doesn`t speak for the ones with an education.

No he's not and never have, though I'm sure he thinks that he's the spokes person for African-Americans, I am proud to say that I am not one of his followers and never will be.
