I am NOT muslim
I was just wondering in response to the first answer I saw to this question..I mean..no offense to Christians (I am still pondering the thought of which religon to choose) but the Bible has been changed SO MANY times how do you even know what God wants of you anymore if it's been changed that much? I have heard that there is evidence that the Quran has been preserved in its original text for the last who knows how many years.

I have in mind the concept of omnipresence. God is our Father and as a Father He must have a residence just like our earthly fathers who have a roof over their heads.Your cannot go everywhere looking for your father just to prove that he is powerful.
This is to prove that the concept of omnipresence is wrong.

It is said by atheist Bertrand Russell, "Unless you assume a God, the question of life's purpose is meaningless." Without the idea of an afterlife or the belief in something beyond ourselves, all of our work in life comes to nothing. How can you have a purpose if you don't believe in some afterlife because in the end, your work comes to nothing? How can you have a meaning without? Even Russell agrees that a God is needed for purpose.

There's a guy at work who is just long winded. His emails are long. He's terrible at meeting. He uses a lot of empty phrases. He likes to talk about what he saw on TV . He can turn a summary about 30 min show into an hour! He's a really nice guy, he just talks way too much! What can I do? I need help. What can I do to escape the conversations?

a responder to this question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Amdw053iMOLPM_NK0hjM92jd7BR.?qid=20070723122356AAqYBIj compared gods love of people to our love of pets. Isn't that comparison insulting? Do you really think that god thinks nothing more of you that you do of a cat or dog or fish?

Such a comparison basically means that you are nothing more to god than a stupid animal that can barely be held accountable for its actions. is this really how you think of yourselves?

Are your thoughts, desires, hopes and dreams so meaningless to you that you liken yoursleves to creatures of amusement for your creator? How is this not insulting?

Is it required of your religion to throw out your individuality and think of yourselves as nothing but pets for god?

I've come to realize that God is a Power. It's a Power we can tap into and use. God is everything - including all the good stuff - Love, Compassion, Joy - all of it. And It's there for us to tap into if we choose.

When I pray - I don't ask God for things. My prayer is about seeing the goodness of God - and helping myself to SEE things in a positive light. Gratitude is part of my prayer - and I used to thank God. But the more I think about it - I don't think I'm grateful TO God - because God doesn't DO anything. I'm just grateful that there is a God. So - I don't think I should be thanking God - just being grateful that there is a God.

Does any of this make sense? If you follow me - I'd love your thoughts.

If you're going to quote the bible - well - that won't really help me much - 'cause that's not in line with my beliefs.

I received a necklace but I want to know what the symbol is called so I can learn more about it.

All I know is that it stands for the four elements-water, earth, fire, and air.
Also, it looks like a swastika, but it is curved not sharp, and rotated a bit.

Muslims and Jews both have a covenant and both worship the One God..... the Lord of Abraham.

The Trinity is not in anyway connected to the Abrahamic religion.

Do you think people can just accept that there is a mutual faith in christ and the rest is just details that may not be relevant to salvation.

2007-07-23 09:23:54 · 21 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

I know what my faith believes on this, and it has always been a subject of interest to me to see what other Christians believe.

If we must be baptized to enter into a covenant with Christ (John 3:3-5) what about all the many people who never had that chance?

What are your thoughts? I look forward to your answers! Have a nice evening

The Bibles teaches that we will recognize the people we interacted with on this Earth. BUT, what does a spirit look like anyway? Is the spirit within us a reflection of our physical body?

What do you honestly think?

"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." -- Anne Coulter, Christian Peace Activist

Conquer,Convert or kill them.

"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism. By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism.

This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault.

The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.

The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.

These “pagans” (Islam and Judaism) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)
