I'm not convinced that most Americans care one way or the other. I, for one, think you blokes are a lot of fun. Your accents, your idioms {..and Bob's yer uncle!}, your terminology{git, sod, poofter, etc.} are extremely entertaining. British humor is too funny!
I have made lots of Brit friends on here {you know who you are!} I'm in love with your "sheds" like the Frog'n'Cat.
Honestly, one of my goals is to visit your fine island someday soon. I also have an American friend or two living in England, and they love it!
We also have some parallel societal problems. hence a feel of comradery.
Ave Albion!!!

Depends on the American. Like you, we're pretty diverse.
I, personally, love the English. I lived in Britain for a year, studied the history, and find you have a great culture and a diverse and exciting society. Some of the best works of art and literature and cinema were created by the English. The best tea and some of the best beers come from the English. My only complaint is that your food is too expensive, especially considering how lousy it mostly is. That's a small complaint for an otherwise fantastic island of people.

When I was younger I used to dislike the English because my background is Irish. As I got older I realized that was foolish. I don't know too many English people but the ones I have met, who were from varied places on the isle, have been very personable. I think my general impression of British people is a good one.

The fact that the U.S. was founded primarily on British Common Law, and we named many of our new towns and cities after towns and cities in England, tells you an awful lot about what Americans think of the English. It's a point of pride for many of us, and if it wasn't we'd let you know.

Personally, I love you guys, alot a great music came from England...That's not the only reason though...I think your people are much more laid-back then us... Also, my dad's parents came here from England...I remember as a kid their cool accents & the great Yorkshire pudding...mmmm Beautiful country, always wanted to take a trip there...Forgot to mention that my dad's fathers family had 3 generations of firemen, have some very old pics of them.
