Superman is a superhero... a fantastical being who can do amazing, entertaining things.
A true hero is a regular person who does extraordinarliy brave things. Police officers and firefighters are heroes. Soldiers are heroes. People who risk their own lives for the sake of others are heroes. People who make sacrifices for others are heroes.
A hero is someone to admire, look up to, and aspire to be like. No one has any hope of aspiring to be Supes...

superman is the sad state of humans in america. If we want to be a hero, we can't do it in the public's eye or else we get criticized....so we have to put up a front as a nerdy inconfident person.
It reveals a hyprocrasy within the teachings of american kids

Depends on the context. In terms of the graphic novel and comics it is a yes. In terms of the real world i don't think superman can do a thing about it. I prefer to think Al Gore might be more useful than the Silver surfer.
