I am NOT muslim
I was just wondering in response to the first answer I saw to this question..I mean..no offense to Christians (I am still pondering the thought of which religon to choose) but the Bible has been changed SO MANY times how do you even know what God wants of you anymore if it's been changed that much? I have heard that there is evidence that the Quran has been preserved in its original text for the last who knows how many years.

The Bible is God's living word- it is alive and active as Hebrews 4 says, therefore it convicts the hearts of sinners, and God reveals Himself to them through His word....it is the only book that holds the truth because it is the only GOD BREATHED book you see. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God--- all other relegions do not have breath in them...they hold no truth and will perish someday-- but it is the word of God that will remain forever-- only His truth will remain and that is what matters most.
That there is nothing more important than your eternal salvation in Christ--- for He is the only way to eternal life, and the only one who can forgive our sins. We have all sinned against God, and we all need His forgiveness. Sin separates you from God for all eternity- in hell. For there is punishment for sin, for God is JUST and HOLY. He is perfect and yet He has made a way for us, through Jesus Christ, as He demonstrated his own love towards us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us -- (See Romans 5 and please Read Romans 10) Jesus Christ paid our price! And when we believe and repent of sin, trusting in Him, we are forgiven, set free no longer under the bondage of sin and hell.
This is the truth-- only God can manifest Himself to those who are seeking Him-- only God can draw you and show you His wonderful truth and I pray and hope you are seeking with your whole heart. Because there is nothing more important.

Most of the Bible has documents preserved from far longer than the Quran, but that is because it is older than the Quran even these are not the original... and the documents that we do have from this far back are almost completely 100% the same. Other documents agree with the events of the Bible. The Old Testament (the Jewish/Hebrew portion of the Bible) is very strongly confirmed by history. The New Testament has been the same as it is today (not the English translations but the native texts) since at the latest the Council of Nicea circa AD 300. But I actually think that the 300 years before this were an even better testimony to the validity of the Bible because during that time, there was a death penalty for believing it, and unless people had some good reason to believe the Bible, I doubt that they would risk their lives just for perks.

The Quran accepts a lot of the stories of the Bible with two major revisions. Ishmael not Isaac, it says, is the Abraham's promised son. And it says that Jesus was a prophet instead of the Son of God. Some Muslims have even decided that Jesus was the greatest prophet, but most believe that Mohamed is.

To me the Bible makes sense because what it says makes sense to me, not because of the historical validity of its text. Jesus teachings were the kind of things that the world most needs. He asked people to take care of the needy, and he comforted the outcasts. He condemned focus on the material and discouraged any form of discrimination. He hung out with prostitutes and with political leaders, the wealthy and the poor. When he died his message started in Asia and spread immediately to Africa and Europe soon afterwards. Jesus also preached peace and love without denying the existence of sin and evil.

Well, this answer is getting to be too long...
Thanks for the question,
God bless you.

I'm not sure where you got your mis-information about the Bible changing...but don't believe them.

When the Dead Sea scrolls were found in the 1940's, they compared it to what we have today...and there is very little difference. The difference would be in spelling such as honor or honour. The meaning didn't change.

The Holy Bible is the Word of God. Let me ask...have you read it? If not, may I suggest beginning with the book of John. (It's the 4th book of the New Testament.)

I hope that helps.

Be very careful. Some will tell you that all roads lead to the same place but that would be a lie. Some religions may have very similar teachings but lead to different places. There's a reason the bible tells us that the road to destruction is wide and many are going that way.

The God Yahweh's personal knowledge of the germ theory of disease and the modern human body are way more written in detail the way it is written in the scripture that makes up the book of Leviticus, Torah and The Dead Sea Scrolls then what was rewritten by humans in The Quran. I have read both and there is no comparison between the two books.

The Bible has not been changed and was before the Qu'ran.
The Qu'ran even says it is the word of God yet they do not agree.
If you are to research the word of God it is available before Muhammad and always taught the aotnment and resurrection of Christ
You will also discover it would have been impossible for Muhamamd to be a prophet of God as he is not in agreement with God nor the prophets of God.
The Bible and the law shows man's need of God and it is through this need that we seek and find God's revealtion.

I'm sorry, when and where has the Bible been changed? You have been missinformed.

The ENGLISH translation of the Bible has been updated over the years to modernize the language, and to make it easier to read, but what changes are you talking about?

Some modern versions of the Bible take into account that some of the more ancient copies of the Bible found have minor variations in wording or spelling than some of the newer copies of the Greek or Hebrew text, but these are minor changes only that do not seem to affect Christian practice or beliefs in any way.

Most Muslims claim that the text of the Qur'an is identical to that received by Muhammad. This is a convenient thing to believe, but is it the truth? There is overwhelming evidence that it is not:

1. Evidence of Change Before 'Uthman
Why did 'Uthman feel the need to destroy other copies of the Qur'an, unless they contained variants? Why did Ibn Ma'sud refuse to hand over his copy for destruction? How do we know that 'Uthman's copy was better than any of the others?...

the Bible has been tweaked by a few words to make it make sense in our language today. my Bible's had the "thou's" and stuff like that changed. it just makes it easier to read.

since the Bible tells us about Jesus, i dont think God would let the revisions get too out of hand. He's still in control.

Changed? Some today's Bible scholar still are able to study on the original parchment as they were found by excavation or discovered in caves. They all look the same.

The holy bible has always been the same and will always be. People will say whatever to confuse you. If anyone changes even a period in the holy bible they may go to hell says the word of God. If your undeceive about what to believe in, follow your heart and pray for God to lead the right people into your way. You will feel the most comfortable and at home when you find out.

Changed??? NO, try again...

The evidence for the New Testament is hundreds or thousands of times better than any other ancient document. Jewish tradition demanded that "worn out" scrolls be destroyed, so there are virtually no manuscripts of the Hebrew scriptures known over about 1000 years old, except the "Dead Sea Scrolls" which are about 2200 years old. The lack of change evident when those manuscripts were found in the middle of the 20th century, representing a 1200 year jump from the oldest known before that time, caused opponents of Biblical truth to have to re-write their attacks on those scriptures.

The BEST New Testament manuscripts make it quite clear that our current versions are much closer and more concise in comparison to their "autographs" (original documents) than any document of comparable age...

For instance, we have thousands of times more NT manuscripts that we do of the writings of Homer, but those remain in use in university literature classes around the world, without attack as being "uncertain."
