I do not know where this person got the idea that we are God's pets, but no that is not adequate; we are God's children. Of course, that analogy falls a little short too, but we are not his dogs.

I am a Christian, and no, do not consider myself a "pet" to God. I don't think it was insulting, more like, that person is just ignorant. In the Bible it says not to worry because God cares for us many times more than that of a sparrow, and he provides food for the sparrow, doesn't He? So, no I do not think I am God's "pet". Also, because He sent His son, Jesus, to Earth, as 100% man and 100% God, he likened Himself to us, in a way, and that would not make since if we were His pets.

You poor atheists will do anything to try to challange our faith.
If indeed God thinks of us in the same context as dogs or cats, that's a high compliment. Most animals far outshine it's human counterparts. Thank you for the good words. God bless you.

actually if you knew anything about christianity he doesnt consider us pets, he considers us his children. as a good father he does everything in his power to help us, not spoil us just help, if you want something from God he will help you get it not give it to you. EX: If you wished for happiness, he will give you the chance to become happy, not just feel your body with good feelings

I feel for you - you read ONE stupid answer and you base your entire understanding of Christianity upon that! Put the computer away and go back to your Marvel comics.

Friends.
John 15:15
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
Hallelujah.

Not pets, not children. Perhaps experimental specimens.
