telling us his church is the only true church. Pretty sad, if you ask me. Sure goes against Scripture that tells us we are to
be one in Spirit.

So the Pope says that the only true Church is the Catholic Church and no one else will receive salvation. And, rightly so, the Protestants are strongly disagreeing with him. But isn't it ironic that a lot of those same Protestants say the same thing to Jews, Muslims, Wiccans, etc.?

I know this has been asked before, but I am a major language lover and I would love to speak more than the ones I know.

Some languages I am deeply interested in learning are the following: Greek, Persian, Russian, Hindi, Swedish, Latin, Japanese, and German. I am also very interested in learning an African dialect, like the very famous Click Languages.

It is very difficult for me to find good sources to learn these languages. I am also a person that needs constant encouragement in other to keep learning, and to also have a reason for it to learn them.

I am fluent in Spanish, since it's my native language (I need to brush up my grammar, though.) I also consider myself to be fluent in English. I do have a lot of advantages from Spanish, and that is why I learned Italian (and for many other reasons, too.) I think I'm fairly good at it, but not fluent.

Could any of you also point out bizarre, almost never taught languages? I would be willing to find out more about them too.

How did you reach the conclusion that God affects things in this world? I still don't understand how people came up with the idea that God is omniscient, omnipotent, etc. It does not say anywhere in the bible that he is. This must be pure speculation, or "deductions" that were made from observing nature. Because nature is so complex, its creator must be the most intelligent and capable being in existence, right? (false logic). Somehow, that logic must have led to the idea that God can do amazing things like count the hairs on your head, read your mind, etc. Because he can create billions of stars, he can surely read my mind, right? Then somehow this new deduction I just mentioned leads people to believe that God affects them in real life events. For example, one may say "Oh, God knew I was going to villify my friend, therefore he made me lose 20 dollars as a punishment."

Pope Benedict XVI reasserted the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says other Christian communities are either defective or not true churches and Catholicism provides the only true path to salvation.

The document continued to state that Protestant churches cannot be called 'churches' in the proper sense" because they do not have apostolic succession — the ability to trace their bishops back to Christ's original apostles — and therefore their priestly ordinations are not valid.

Being Lutheran I have several issues with this whole situation. What are your thoughts? If you're comfortable with it, state your religious affiliation.

I was 4 when I started Irish step Dancing. When I was 8, my parents made me quit because I hated to practice and they didn't want to buy a dress for someone who wouldn't practice.

Well last year, I found out that 3 girls in my class irish danced. Thats when I remebered where all my old ribbons and medals and pictures were. I pulled them out and saw my old shoes and CD of practice music. Well I listened to the CD and looked at some old pictures when I realized that I wanted to take it up again.

So now I'm 14 and I want to take it up during High School becasue I want to do a sport and I hate what people consider sports (you know the running around chasing a ball sort of thing) So I asked my parents and we found a school and my mom is suposed to be calling to register me.

what I need to know is since I cant remember alot about the steps, would i need to start on a very beginer level or what? Any information you can give about anything is greatly encouraged.

You see a crime, slap on a label as the cause (sin/evil) and move right along to punishment.

You do not consider that crime has a cause because you might find that cause has something to do with you: something you do or something you don't do.

And quite frankly, you don't want to be bothered finding out because that might require you to change, perhaps become more christian, and you'd really rather not bother.

So "sin" and "evil" are awfully convenient scape goats in your world, I suspect. You need look no further than Satan to explain all the ills of the world, and of course there is nothing you can do to stop Satan but preach and pray.

Do I have that about right?

A man who beats his wife will treat her like crap and then tell her he loves her. He will mix love with abuse and confuse her and in the end, she loses all self-respect and becomes completely dependant on him to the point where he serves as her eyes, her ears, everything. Notice how you'll hear born-agains talk about god as if he was the abusive husband in the relationship?

I am agnostic, I feel that people should all just believe in what they want to believe in, have their own morals, be the best person they can be and try to live their life to the fullest. Religion divides and separates the human race from each other, that is why there are still religious wars to this day. Everyone thinks their religion is the right religion. How can they know this seeing they are only human? They are going by a book that was written by other humans, so they are just taking their word for it? That this is how god wants us to live? No one will know for sure, and I mean no one, until they die. Who else believes this?

ever make you want to research? Does it make you pray to Jehovah to help you to know if you are worshiping him in the right way? I know I am setting myself up here for some disturbing answers..but, I just want you all to know..that I personally have only intense love for you..I have pain in my heart for you, my family..because I have been where you are..and now I am in a better place in my life..with a true beautiful free relationship with God..I put answers on here and sometimes questions about JW's in order to try and help you to see things in a different way..to research...That is all I am trying to do..But, if it is not doing any good..I am not going to post answers nor questions any longer..I am going to spend my time more wisely..Reading the Bible and helping others to gain a relationship with Jesus and God.
I have great love for you all,I really do..I pray everynight that ones will hear the true message of Jesus.
I know you think you have the truth..but please just be sure..

Just curious.

Yes, the problem is that too many insecure people get threatened by thought-provoking questions that challenge their belief structure. But the real issue appears to be nobody on Yahoo's end checking to see if the report violations are legit.
