Just curious.

Yes, the problem is that too many insecure people get threatened by thought-provoking questions that challenge their belief structure. But the real issue appears to be nobody on Yahoo's end checking to see if the report violations are legit.

Maybe the suggestion to add a thumbs down to a question would alleviate some of the problem by giving the people who feel threatened by thought-provoking questions an outlet for their anger, instead of getting our questions deleted.

I've never had one overturned. That's when I realized the machine was doing the work that should be done by the humans.

I've been reported for some of my "non-snide, non-sarcastic" posts, that were actually legitimate and thoughtful answers, had my stuff deleted, and I've replied to the unseen moderators, and have been completely ignored. I honestly don't think anyone actually checks them out, I think that when someone gets reported, its an automatic deletion without anyone checking to see if there really was a violation. I will say that it seems saying anything to a muslim in their questions that disagrees with them in any way will be an automatic deletion.

I've only gotten 2, but when I send a reply asking why, I get this pre-written response (I'm sure many have gotten it too.) It's like it's automatically sent when you reply to a violation notice. I know Yahoo is busy but I wouldn't mind getting a response a month later if it sounded the least bit authentic.

No because of the fact it ought to of been a actual mistake . There are greater people who abuse the equipment than not and it would convey approximately Witch Hunts and harassment. i think of it is sufficient that there is an appeals technique. I do besides the indisputable fact that think of they might desire to tell the guy doing the reporting that there credibility is in jeopardy and perchance they might rectify the errors made in the 1st place by utilising submitting the checklist. yet except Yahoo tells them the checklist became into filed in errors and the allure became into authorized they are going to shop making a similar mistake repeatedly back.

My answer was deleted by YA and I don't even know what it was. How could I get it overturned? I just ignore that stuff. The only thing that would make a change is money. The lack of it flowing from us to YA.

Yes, I did. I posted a question about the "Bong Hits 4 Jesus" case that was presented before the US Supreme Court. After appealing my Q's removal (on the grounds that Yahoo News was carrying the story, qualifying it as a valid current event not outside the TOS or CGs,) they had to put it back.

Yes I told somebody who had made a comment about Noah that he was unoriginal and that he stole his idea from an old Bill Cosby routine. I couldn't believe that I was reported for abuse because of that. But then I challenged them to show me how it was abusive and they overturned it. ( I am still in shock)

They wrote back once to ask what my ID was.

Of course the ID was part of the E-mail they sent to me, proving no one from yahoo every read my E-mail.

Once my answer was, "Great Question" and someone claimed that violated community standards.

Yes, but that was back in the day they would tell you what you had done wrong. Since they stopped telling, I haven't had any success contesting a violation. They just keep sending me the same canned reply without even acknowledging my appeal!

Yes. I answered a question that was reported, and somehow it dragged me along for the ride. I told Yahoo I answered the question asked and didn't curse, spam, etc. They removed the report.
