telling us his church is the only true church. Pretty sad, if you ask me. Sure goes against Scripture that tells us we are to
be one in Spirit.

I was raised Baptist and was told that Catholics were going to hell....

Neither thought is of God.

I'm so glad I had enough sense to renounce Catholicism as my "religion". Plain old non-denominational Christianity is the way for me.

And the pope's recent idiocy only confirms it.

I've said this before but I'll say it again:

I would still be a blind Catholic if someone didn't care enough to open my eyes to the TRUTH!!!

Now I am a recovering Catholic.

I've renounced it as my "religion" based on many reasons (some are below.) I'm much better off to have found Christianity than to stay brainwashed as a Catholic.

If you consider the word "cult", then I believe that Catholicism is definitely in that category.
I don't have the specific scripture back up but...

-the bible states not to call any worldly religious leader "Father" yet Catholic leaders are called Father.

-the bible states not to have any gods above Him, yet the Catholic religion teaches to pray to many different saints. If you pray to anyone other than God, you are breaking that commandment.

-the bible states not to practice repetitive, showy prayer, yet the Catholic church is full of mindless, going-through-the-motions prayer. If you need proof, attend a service.

-the bible states that your sins aren't forgiven by "works" but rather by repentance and a sorrowful heart and guidance from God. The Catholic religion lets you out of sin by reciting Hail Marys, Our Fathers, etc.

Need I say more?

That sounds like a cult to me!!!

There's no arguing the facts.

Following JESUS CHRIST and His teaching is the only way. Not having my sins "pardoned" by some Bishop or "Father".

God bless.

He's a destroyer. Not like the last Pope who attempted to build. Of course, I would be ashamed if Christians began burning effigies and acting like the backward Muslims out in the world. lol

I am observing what's going on, and especially asking God for guidance and understanding in all of this. This Pope can be but a precursor to the one that will really screw things up.

I just find it interesting that he is making division between Roman Catholics and Christians. It would seem like he was doing what the False Prophet would do in order to bring judgment down on Protestants; which would be Satan's way of doing things: The voice of the dragon.

He has to make it okay to persecute Christians. I think that it the only way people will see that it's okay to kill us and try to force us into conformity to the world.

So at some point in time, there will either be another Pope to finish the job, or we can expect someone to be revealed as the Antichrist; a false man of peace who brings peace to the Middle East for a time.

Jesus taught his followers to pray directly to G-d. Jesus did not intend to found a big church heirarchy, with canonized saints, and the gamut from priests to pope. If Jesus saw the Catholic Church, he'd be appalled, because this was the same thing he was trying to reform in the Jewish church of his time.

Well I'm Christian and my family is Catholic and they even sometimes don't believe in the Pope I don't listen to him for he is speaking to his followers but in the Bible it says that you can worship freely not that God doesn't want you to worship idols but even in wars here in America have religous freedom in it. For each religion has different parts and that is how Catholic's think of that I just think let them worship what they think for they are placing themselves in wrong things

Doesn't every religion/church believe they are the only true one?

I used to be a Protestant and now am Catholic.

PLEASE read what the Pope said:

He did not say that non-Catholics were going to hell, (even though some Baptists may think us Catholics are)

He did not say that we are not one in Spirit with our Protestant Brothers and Sisters.

Peace and God Bless!

He's just a sinner that needs to hear the true word of God and to trust and believe in Jesus as his savior, and obey him . Please read 1 Timothy 4:1-5...Hebrew 10:11

I don't care what the man says. The sad thing is, Catholics revere his every word and think what he is saying IS Scriptural.

The Pope is in my thought maybe once a year.
This statement doesn't surprise me as most religions are have splits in them.
