I am agnostic, I feel that people should all just believe in what they want to believe in, have their own morals, be the best person they can be and try to live their life to the fullest. Religion divides and separates the human race from each other, that is why there are still religious wars to this day. Everyone thinks their religion is the right religion. How can they know this seeing they are only human? They are going by a book that was written by other humans, so they are just taking their word for it? That this is how god wants us to live? No one will know for sure, and I mean no one, until they die. Who else believes this?

nope. sorry. even in order for your theory to work you have to have a moral standard in order to determine how we live a good life and be the best person we can be. yet, you stated that there will be no moral standard because we supposed to believe whatever it is that we want. that is flawed logic.

Rain - you have a few points right and a few that just won't fly.

For example, you say "...have their own morals...".
So, if person "A" has morals that believes in having sex with under-aged children, you are okay with that, right?

I'll grant you that religion certainly has done a lot of harm to humanity throughout the ages.
But there are some universal truths that transcend what you think is morally right versus someone else who differs from your beliefs.

Without going into an existential discussion, I would encourage you to study human behavior.
Religion (right or wrong) does offer some positive guidelines for living a righteous life.

I think the exact same way! Why should people be separated into different religions? Do all these gods want us to be killing for them in these wars? I don't think so. If people would just be good human beings I think that is all any god would ask for. Got a great point Rain! :)

I was an agnostic also. But when I began trusting God just because it was either that or killing myself, I changed. When you begin to trust God you are going to get some big surprises if what happened to me happens to you.

I found that the way God works is through His Spirit. And then the Spirit teaches you things that you might have just dismissed before. He also brings new things.

So until you begin to trust Him, there will only be speculation on your part. And as Jesus said, " You trust God, trust also in me." You begin to understand who Jesus really is. And that's saying a lot. It changes your whole life.

there is only one truth, reguardless of what people believe...some may not believe in hell...but if there is a hell then it wont really care that you didn't believe in it...you can still go there. some may not choose to believe in God, but just because you don't doesn't mean it's right. so i suggest that every body...just ask, it can't hurt...if nothings there then your not looking like a fool and if someone is there then you aren't really praying to nothing. all you have to do...is say...God if your there then show me..give me a sign, because i truly need to know the truth. and He will guide you ,you will be suprised at the answer you get...but please be sincere when you ask, and don't do it as a joke or as to mock. no one even has to know you asked...and when you get your answer then it's your decision as to what to do about it. but don't go around just not knowing what to believe in, when you have a chance to find the truth. please make the right choice and don't be ashamed about it. God bless!!!!

the only concern with regards to perception and nature is that i believe nature will proceed. And nature ought to alter. whether we wreck the ambience it is going to convey approximately our civilization's crumple and our deaths. Then the earth can go on, readjust it is climate and have creatures evolve which would be used to that climate. Nature is barely between the continued forces in the universe. what's to believe in?

This is only addressing part of your question, but not all religions believe that they are the only "right" religion -- many Neo-Pagan faiths hold that all religions are potentially valid paths to the Divine. Also, most Neo-Pagan religions do not have a holy book of any kind.

Other than that, I agree with pretty much everything you've said.

Only one religion is correct. I do believe that the Bible is correct because it is the inspired word of God and has never changed and never will because it was written in a language that has been dead for years. Buddah is dead, Mohammed is dead and Jesus arose from the dead and ascended to His Father. That is what I believe. You are right though, we will all know 5 seconds after we are dead.

I agree. Organised religion is too strict & straight cut for my liking. If we all just live by our own codes & morals, treat everyone the way we want to be treated by others then we could all get along so much better.
Like you say, we are never going to know for sure until its too late to change anything anyway.

Except for the bit about only knowing for sure when you die. The irony is that at that point, you don't know anything.
