I was 4 when I started Irish step Dancing. When I was 8, my parents made me quit because I hated to practice and they didn't want to buy a dress for someone who wouldn't practice.

Well last year, I found out that 3 girls in my class irish danced. Thats when I remebered where all my old ribbons and medals and pictures were. I pulled them out and saw my old shoes and CD of practice music. Well I listened to the CD and looked at some old pictures when I realized that I wanted to take it up again.

So now I'm 14 and I want to take it up during High School becasue I want to do a sport and I hate what people consider sports (you know the running around chasing a ball sort of thing) So I asked my parents and we found a school and my mom is suposed to be calling to register me.

what I need to know is since I cant remember alot about the steps, would i need to start on a very beginer level or what? Any information you can give about anything is greatly encouraged.

We have an Irish group here that puts on kaylees (sp?) every few months, they have lessons for all kinds of people. I'm sure you could get linked to other more regular dancers from that sort of introduction. Oh, it's also held at a predominantly Irish parish.

of direction you're able to do it devoid of being irish! i'm Irish, yet i've got competed against African individuals, Italians and Russians, so it would not count number what your ethnicity (spelling? lol) is, they are going to gladly settle for everybody. And finding instructors is unquestionably elementary, basically finding one you're quite happy with might nicely be basically a splash a challenge finding on the place you reside. sturdy success, i wish you get to initiate :)

Have you googled Irish step dancing? Try the phone book of any city with an Irish population. I think that there are stepdance videos also.
