and hinge on what others think of their beliefs?

Just look at how angry "Chloe" got.She became defensive and volatile when a basic question was asked.Sure it had some sarcasm to it.But the question was reasonable.

Are responses like that proof that faith is held as a shaky belief system that could fail at any moment?

My brother received a one-page brochure for a "Camp Quest", basically a summer camp for atheists and "freethinkers" in his elementary school. A few weeks earlier, we got two others like this, one promoting a Christian church, and the other one some sort of Wiccan organization.

Is this legal as long as all fliers are accepted, or is it illegal b/c it ties in religion with government too much (like letting teachers lead prayers of their religion) ?

I'm kinda glad that Christians can't logically prove that God is there. That is what FAITH is about. You have to believe and have faith.

I'm also glad that evolution cannot be proved (or some would say comlpeted).

Maybe it sounds weird that i'm glad God cannot be proved logically to us, but I feel that the fact that we can't prove either side will test personal faith.

This is a pretty much a redo of a question where the asker ended up picking the answer of "higher a stripper" So I just think it is worth asking again.

For those who would give short answers to this redo: probably don't bother…because I've taken my training from wayofthemasterradio.com...a radio show that talks about presenting the gospel the way Jesus did.

Now if Jesus was the most intelligent person who ever lived then can an idiot follow that method? A lot of atheists listen to the show, btw, which I think is amazing!

Again, this is a redo of a question where the asker picked a disconnected answer. Btw, I do, in fact, want to use rational thought and argument so I took that out of the question. But, maybe the first asker has something that works good despite whatever else.

This time the question is said tongue and cheek…Whereas for the original asker it was just a joke or whatever.
Don't forget the email link to me if you want ask something or even give me a hard time

I was just contemplating the christian religion and it crossed my mind that Jesus says that to even look upon a woman with lust is a sin that requires you to repent and even to gouge your eyes out. Well, since god has a pre-ordained time for everyone to die, what if you just happen to have a sinful thoughts when it happens. God doesn't seem to like blemishes, and Jesus' blood only covers you while you're living, one last sinful thought and it's off to the lake of fire with you. If you've been a good little christian terrorist all your life, slaughtered the non-believers as Jesus asked, stoned your kids and the whole nine yards of the OT, but at the end of your life you just happen to judge someone or think about sex, doesn't that mean you get to spend eternity in the lake of fire with all of the other sinners? Or can you ask for forgiveness after you die?

I asked a question about the meaning of a Pagan's comment about Christianity, and I was told by a couple people that I should not concern myself with such things.

I am reading a book on the history of Christianity, which happens to be written by a Christian. The chapter I'm on is about the persecution of the early Christians, and how they were treated and viewed by non-Christian Romans.

Why shouldn't I learn about this?
Why shouldn't I learn all that I am driven to want to know?

I believe in the Elephant God (Tikitampawampalooloo) . Tikitampawampalooloo created the Earth (in fact all the planets) using the medium of dance (damn! that elephant can move!) combined with gravitational forces and his twelve magical helpers of Antioch. The magical helpers of Antioch each wore special hats (with two or sometimes three daisy's in them) to signify their love for Tikitampawampalooloo, and followed his messenger Chipoopoo unquestioningly.

Chipoopoo communicates with Tikitampawampalooloo in his sleep and communicates His will whilst in the "waking world". He spreads a message of love and peace, and a doctrine that includes several rituals. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday I wear a blue hat (with a fresh daisy in it) to prove to how much I love Tikitampawampalooloo. He loves us more when we perform these rituals.

I have built several shrines around the world and currently have several hundred thousand followers, we are always looking for more followers ;-)

Maybe if LDS allowed Coffee and Wine then more of us would become Mormons.

freecycle web site. i had to get rid of my old sofa because the new one was coming, it was in good condition as a 3 2 1 seater & foot stool.
Somebody offered to take it from us after i posted it on the freecycle web site as they had moved into a new hse & were sitting on deck chairs & they turned up at 8pm last night & my husband dismantled the sofas & helped the bloke carry it all out to the van which they got into & drove away.
My question is - would you have offered a bit of cash, as a thank you? New sofa came tonight & we gave the driver £10, after all he lugged it all in etc - what do u think?

I've learned in this R&S section that the sky, the trees and the birds are proof of God. It seems to be impossible to deny that proof.

I'm 27, have been an atheist all my life. I must have seen thousands of different skies, at least 10,000 trees and even more birds.

Are there any statistics on how long it usually takes for people to understand this undeniable proof of God?
