I would agree with you. Faith based on proof isn't faith.

I would prefer that a proof of the existence or non-existence of god could be had, so that we all could stop wasting vast amounts of time squabbling over it. But evolution CAN be proved, and I have done so; details to anyone who provides an e-mail address. As for faith, it is the ultimate evil: it is the deliberate rejection of the essence of one's humanity: the ability to think and draw valid conclusions from evidence. There is persuasive (but not conclusive) evidence that no god exists; see:

Evolution CAN be proved - in fact, it has been proven to exist. It has been demonstrated repeatedly that certain animals (and plants) have evolved.
The issue of HUMAN evolution is another matter altogether. We can trace the evolution of our ancestors on a continuum, with the exception of the missing link. Find that, and the "theory" becomes fact.
Creationists dismiss carbon dating as well as any evidence in support of the near-proven theory of evolution. In fact, they have to refute ALL science(and get their sheep-like followers to do the same) in order to not see the imminent reality, that we, like every other creature on this planet, evolved from lesser beings.
Deal with it.

From what I've seen, herd, read, and experienced through prayer.God has been proven.Ya'll aren't lookin in the right place,or just 'ignoring' it so to be convenient.Evolution has been somewhat proven. The time frame is somewhat tricky.Mind boggling. But I'm sure if someone wanted to prove the timeline they'd find a way.

Most people who claim to have faith in God have such a vague notion of what this "God" is as to make belief in its existence a rather inconsequential thing.

The majority of evidence indicates that gods are man-made.
There is no real evidence of any gods.
Nothing can be proved in an absolute sense.

God is supernatural, therefore all of creation is supernatural. I too, enjoy the mystery and do not try to convince anyone of my rather esoteric beliefs. Supernatural, metaphysics, quantum physics, magick ... it's all good ... BOOO!
