Well Scientology DEFINITELY isn't a religion. They claim Tom Cruise as their Jesus figure for crying out loud. And I'm not being facetious...they really did.

This seems to be a serious question so here's my serious answer.
Wiccan is as much a religion as Christianity or any other. A religion is just what a group of people believe in. It doesn't happen to be the "right" religion for me,but that doesn't make it wrong for everyone.

Now my funny answer: Wicca as a relgion??? I thought that was what my lawn furniture was made from. I'm sure I saw wicca furniture at Home depot the other day!

lol. So what? All religions started somewhere. If thats the case, then you should be asking how Scientology is a real religion because its actually much much newer than that.

All it takes is people to believe in it and the acceptance by others that its a religion.

Actually, it was mostly invented in 1952 by taking bits and pieces from a discredited anthropologist's views on the world....
But it still works.

It is its modern nature that makes it work, and makes it a real religion.

All religions that came before Wicca were 60 years old at some point.

If you follow that line of thought then you could ask the same thing about Christianity as it was created by "taking bits and pieces" of ancient paganism and shamanism as well as a few others. A religion is real for those who follow it and I consider my religion real regardless or what others may say.

What does the year have to do with anything? Christianity and catholicism also come from bits and pieces of other religions, I don't see a problem in that.

Every religion has to start somewhere. Christianity, Judiasm, Muslim, Buddhism, Hinduism, all started at some point.

AND who are you to say what is a real religion or not???????

There are new branches of Christianity popping up every day. One statistic I read said 100 a year.

Don't knock it because it isn't ancient.

Well if we burned most of the Christians and all of their Bibles, maybe oneday (when things cool off a little) they'd like to try and piece things back together.

Really is it soooo hard for you to understand?
