and hinge on what others think of their beliefs?

Just look at how angry "Chloe" got.She became defensive and volatile when a basic question was asked.Sure it had some sarcasm to it.But the question was reasonable.

Are responses like that proof that faith is held as a shaky belief system that could fail at any moment?

Shortiep: stereotyping would be if I had said "all" in my question.I am very careful when I choose my words so that I don't stereotype.

There is no fragile a faith as the one that needs defending.

i don't think that a response like that means its a shaky belief system. some people don't know how to communicate or react to topics close to the heart.

you can become defensive if someone questions how your mother raised you. it might be offensive to some and interpreted as plain curiousness to others. don't let these over reactive religious people make you think that there is something wrong with religion. you do your own soul searching and research to determine if things make sense to you and your soul.

i am spiritual, not religious and i feel that all religions have beautiful intentions for their followers. if there is a God i think nothing is more valuable to him than a person who is beautiful inside regardless of what religion they follow.

by the way, i answered the other question too and i hope God has a sense of humor lol.

No it isn't proof. It depends on the person and how they read the question. I don't get all angry unless someone is trying to tick me off or is just being really immature. Like this question doesn't really annoy me. Although, it might annoy someone else because of the way that they interpret the question. It all depends on the person. You are kinda stereotyping here. Not one person in a group is the exact same.

So in summary. .
It depends on the person: how strong their beliefs are and how they interpret a question.

Wow...I'm glad I went back and read her response before I answered. Ummmmm....I don't know why she felt the need to swear like that, but here is my guess. We, as Christians, have a ton of love and respect for God. We believe He and His name should be treated with the utomost respect. It is heartbreaking when we hear people talk about God, 'Christians', and our faith in a derogatory manner. The thing is, we(Christians) are not perfect, and we still have to deal with the same raw emotions...such as anger....as non-Christians. Not making excuses, but I believe she felt that her faith was being attacked.

i can only speak for myself but i get angry at some of the degradation and belittiling of the Man that went through hell here on earth, torture, pain ridicule etc for the very people that are doing the degrading to know someone loves you that much and still be able to attack them at every chance really ticks me off and by no means do i feel insecure or threatened about my belief in God what more can one give than to lay down His life

Chloe and Demopublican sitting in a tree k.i.s.s.i.n.g first comes love .....
face it when people tease each other like this its the first step.

Ok sorry should answer the question:
I think it is an indication of weak faith. I am convinced on atheism. No one could get me as riled up as she got on that one.

Seems to me you can practice and teach just about any religion anywhere around the world except Christianity. Go into Bosnia, Asia, Middle East anywhere and there is no problem teaching Bud ism, Hinduism, Islam, Tao, but preach the gospel, and the officials of that country do not want you there and will keep tabs on you very closely. Seems to me the Truth hurts, and the Truth is the only thing people are afraid to accept!

She might be on medication. I wouldn't push the issue. Anyone can be pushed over the edge, especially if they are on high doses of anti-anything pills. I bet you made her cry. I bet she is praying to the Lord right now. Lord~pops pill~ Please let me have the strength~pops another~to ignore those who do not hear your words. In your abused and neglected sons name......amen.
I bet that's what happened

Who can say why someone who is supposed to be Christlike acts that way? I wonder if she will act that way in the Heaven she is so (self) assured of.
