I've learned in this R&S section that the sky, the trees and the birds are proof of God. It seems to be impossible to deny that proof.

I'm 27, have been an atheist all my life. I must have seen thousands of different skies, at least 10,000 trees and even more birds.

Are there any statistics on how long it usually takes for people to understand this undeniable proof of God?

"I must have seen thousands of different skies"

But there's only one sky. What do you mean by that statement?

:D

Trees and birds are proof of trees and birds. They are elements of nature. I can grow a tree in my backyard. I can watch a baby bird come from an egg that I can watch a mama bird lay.

None of this is proof of god.

(Of course, I know you know that, but eh.)

EDIT: "Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good."

This is why religion makes me mad. Don't blame me for using logic. Keep your Bible for you, and stop trying to prove religion to me with religion. It's circular logic. It's not independently verifiable.

Yep. And on this site I've seen thousands of lines of "cut & paste" scripture, and I still don't see proof that god wrote the words.

I've even tried exploring faith (as the theists suggest), and every time I do, my rational human brain screams, "STOP TRYING TO DELUDE YOURSELF!"

Don't know, wondering my self. Actually when I look at the trees and birds I see proof of evolution.

If I recall correctly, according to Pascal one also needs the special indoctrination methods of the church (seriously!) before those proofs are rendered as blindingly obvious as they really are.

All it takes is a little faith..

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

It takes quite a long if you rely on your own understanding. When Holy Spirit guides you, things are different. : )

I've even heard the laugh of a baby is proof of God. I've heard plenty of babies cry, and it doesn't make me think there's a god, it makes me think "shut up, I'm trying to read".

Creation is proof of a Creator.

I’m still waiting for proof God doesn’t exist:

1 Jeremiah 5:21 Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear:
22 Should you not fear me?" declares the LORD. "Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.
23 But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned aside and gone away.
24 They do not say to themselves, 'Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.'
25 Your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good.
26 "Among my people are wicked men who lie in wait like men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men.
27 Like cages full of birds, their houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and powerful
28 and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the poor.

God be with you.
