Why didn't god kill the Serpent in the garden and prevent adam from eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil using his powers?

One openly exposes themselves as the enemy of freedom every day,and the others keep blowing people up in far off lands without affecting us. Which is worse is I guess a question of proximity.

Pride and indifference shroud this heart, too, as the sun is obscured by the piled-up clouds; supercilious thoughts root out all modesty of mind, and sorrow saps the strongest will.

Does it have to be right or wrong? Can't they just accept people for their believes. Why are they always saying "turn your life around". What if I like my life, can't they accept that and be happy for me.

Did god discriminate against the black in the past when there were seperate churches for differently coloured people? Why did this happen? did god or pope teach us to discriminate then? What led to the discrimination? Why different churches?

For example, with this sentence:

Le racisme est une idéologie qui affirme la hiérarchie des races et, par conséquent, l’existence de races pures...

Why is it 'hiérarchie DES races' (i'm assuming because it's plural), but then it's 'l'existence DE races pures...' - it's the same word!?

If there is a rule, can you tell me, and explain it?

Thanks!!

I've a company black tie event to attend in 2 weeks and have no idea what to wear.

I'm thinking of splurging on clothing that I can use again rather than leave it to rot in the wardrobe. Seeing I'm not a Dress person, I found a nice fancy black corset top at an evening wear shop. This will go well with my jeans for other occasions, so I am happy with it.

I think it is usually teamed with a knee-length or full-length skirt so
I'm afraid that a black corset, black slacks, and black peep-toes would not be suitable for a black-tie event.

What do you guys think?

I'm talking more about monster and folkloric creatures, myths etc... not the Devil (though I don't doubt he's pretty evil) or Bush (I don't think he's evil, just pretty dumb).

Personnally I'd say the Wendigo

War. The word our country, our nation is revolving around. War on terror, War on Poverty, War on Illegal Immigration... War on Drugs.

This war on drugs is self-compounding. If the drug trade was regulated, you end the violence and corruption that the current market breeds. By declaring war, we create massive amounts of violence... and the battleground is on our streets.... lets face it, the users arent the ones who are out shooting each other... its the dealers.. stealing each others business. Civilian casualties by the dozen. Lets end this injustice and invasion of freedom by diplomatically CONTROLLING it. Prohibition is the most Victorian way of dealing with something. In this day and age, we must realize that we must control this situation by regulation and taxation. Put those billions of dollars into our childerens schools, rather than putting them in harms way.
eliminate the massive drug wars in mexico, make the business regulated also potentially cut down on illegal immigratio

Their hatred of womens rights, and their hatred of individual freedom in general are already closely aligned. And most Fundamentalist Christians want to use force and violence to enforce their edicts, they know they do. So it seems in the long run ,with a little negotiation that Muslim extremists, and Christian Fundamentalists could make a fine partnership.

And why?

For me = Bones. Because Bones is so delightfully clueless about people, and so unfeminine - its a great gender role reversal. I admire her. Also because of the religious discussions they have on Bones. And because of the great one-liners the writers come up with!!

First, we have religon, several books, all claimed to be written by the "Creator of the Universe" yet still contain barbaric principles, and laws, and no reconciliation.

We now approch a time of 21st century technology, and 15th century ideology. Can we as a species possibly survive this?

Should we escape doom, what is the future for humanity? I don't think any religon has a proper prediction for that. But, my true question is,

What will emerge that will prevent us from destroying ourselves?

By gods hand? Whose god? Yours? Theirs? Mine? Someone elses?

To properly "interpret" gods will, we can only go through scripture? Whose Scripture? Christians? Muslims? Jews? Buddists?

How can we possibly claim we KNOW "Gods Will"

I feel that is what will be our ultimate destruction...
