1) I think this is an interesting subject.
2) There are many misconceptions about science and atheism that I want to clear up. (If I can convince even just one person on this forum that I don't reject God because I'm mad at him, or because I want to live life without any morals, then it's worth it.)
3) Religion affects all of our lives regardless of whether we're religious or not.
4) I'm not comfortable talking about this in real life because people generally have negative reactions when you say you're not a theist, so I talk on here instead.
5) Most importantly: This is a section for discussion ABOUT religion, not a section solely for the religious.

What we DO believe in. There are all kinds of spiritual beliefs that have nothing to do with your god. And the way Cristains go all over the world telling other cultures they're evil and have to change or they'll go to hell....always stirring up the Sh** here and out there... . meddling in politics... Muslim terrorism.....War....Religions we don't believe in are something to be concerned about because all of this effects everyone. And we have the right to discuss religion and how it effects the world, all the problems surrounding it and what we think is right and wrong (yes we heathens have our own belief system and morals, we love, care...just like real people)

I have thirty years and two degrees in religious studies, including a stint in seminary. This is one of the few areas I'm well qualified to discuss.
I'd like to spend more time talking about matters of religion. But I spend most of my time countering the accusations many of the most vocal Christians make re atheists. The lies they put out are so astounding that I want to get a more accurate and reasonable version included. I have no delusions that I'll be able to change their minds, but hopefully I can keep a few people from taking up the chant.

I don't necessarily believe in the Christian/Jewish/Islamic god, but I'm not a disbeliever either. However I tend to side with the atheists in this forum. I'm here for the amusement value mostly.

I myself am Catholic and find it highly annoying when atheists and otehr religions come on this forum and insult mine and other religions. If they all want to know so bad, go read a Cathechism where they are not so badly influenced on this forum.

I'm killing time
but I don't see anything that says you have to be a believer to post here.
Do you really thing that if there were an atheist section it would only be populated with atheists?

We're here to advise people who want the truth about religion. Remember that this is a section for people to learn about religion and spirituality, not a section for religious and spiritual people to come and have their beliefs bolstered.

I agree with Paul S
this section is titled Religion and Spirituality
not GOD and Christianity
other then that you may have people with questions or insight either personal or otehrwise that they may wish to share about christanity or other religions.

Wouldn't you benefit from learning all points of views instead of the same single minded point of view. How will you know if you are happy if you have nothing to compare it to. Everyone should do what they feel is right for them.

I can only say this,if there was a forum especially for discussion and faith in Aliens I would not even venture there as I do not believe in them and therefore have no interest in the topic.
