Good question? I can understand your dilma, But with the Bible you do not have to read a lot at one time. Take just a few verses at a time or one story. Example take the story only of creation which is one chapter and think on those things. Or start in one of the gospels and read just a paragraph or one story and stop they are not long. Try reading it once a day like that for a week. You will be surprised what you learn. You can take a few verse like the proverbs and read and think on them one at a time. Proverbs is a good book to read just a verse at a time, because the chapters are not necessarily required for understanding to read the whole section.
I think if you really take time to read the Bible you will enjoy it. I do not know many books that cover as many themes as the Bible does. It has murder, mysteries, love, hate, villians, heroes, and so much more.

If you want to read the Bible then I would start with the New Testament. I agree to pray before you start reading, and don't put too much pressure on yourself to read a certain amount each day. Just read until you're tired of reading for the day. There are also some great movies about specific characters of the Bible. Watching the movies helps me remember more, but just remember that the movies may add or delete from the actual Bible scripture so I would read just to compare. You can also go to Bible.com for a quick reference. You can enter a word or phrase and it will give all references from the Bible.

what's the ingredient of your question in case you already understand the respond? R&S probably isn't the main suitable place to get some questions replied. Many want extra effective than one one or 2 sentences to respond to and you recognize as properly as I do this a majority of human beings in R&S won't worry to make certain previous one paragraph. It then will become a lecture consultation and maximum prefer trouble-free questions observed by trouble-free solutions. Yahoo does have chat rooms if one prefer's to have an ongoing communique. it fairly is to not say that persons do not attempt to %. in as plenty ego-filled be counted right into a query or answer as they might with out substantial boredom settling in for the listener.

I will advise you to start reading illustrated books with colourful pictures. This will attract the attention of your mind and capture your interest. And yes get subscibed to a library and choose books which are of interest to you, on issues, stories which you like. Gradually you will develop a skill for reading and you will be able to read any holy scripture with concentration and most importantly with interest and devotion.

No tricks, you have to either sit down and read it or not read it. Try to do so when your not disracted, perhaps in the evening after exercising and a good meal, no music or tv to distract you find a comforatble spot etc
If you want to read it you have to make that commitment. It takes me months to read books some times, though when I was isolated in a foriegn country magicly i managed to read a book a week. Shut off the world around you and you will get through it

Suggestion you need a pastor that can tell you the truth and you can read with the help of GOD
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Revelation 1:3
King James Version

"Our Bible reveals to us the character of our god with minute and remorseless exactness... It is perhaps the most damnatory biography that exists in print anywhere. It makes Nero an angel of light and leading by contrast"
Samuel Clemens
It's mildly amusing when christians post bible quotes. They might as well be posting quotes from Lord of the Rings - although LOTR is far more relevant.

Find a Bible version that is written in today's vernacular, such as the New International Version or Young's Literal translation... Keep trying because God's word is powerful... pray before you read and ask God to help you concentrate and take away all distractions.... ask in Jesus' name..

this is similar to what i do... find a good online "scripture topic look up" and then select an appropriate scripture to think about through the day.
another way is audio. video.
start somewhere instead of counting any effort pointless.
