The thing to remember is that Jesus loves you. Which is why you'll burn in hell till it freezes over if you don't love him back. Kind of like a girl I dated in high-school, who told the assistant principal that I was packing a .12-gauge shotgun in my backpack...simply because I asked another girl to...er, well, that was years ago and I'm sure she's married now and a mother who loves Jesus more than she loves her husband, the poor sap.

This is no doubt a tough question. It is not matter of loving Jesus alone.. Saying that you will go to hell if you don't believe in Jesus appears "intolerant" to some with a post-modern view of truth. When what ever religion works for you is OK for you, and whatever religion works for me is OK for me then of course this sounds arrogant to the extreme. If however truth is not relative and what is true for me is also true for you then not all religions can be true due to contradictory claims. Christians believe that the claims of Christ are objectively true, that is true for everybody whether or not they choose to believe it. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian or not, one day when you die you will face God.. God is Holy and cannot tolerate sin, even a very small sin. It is against His nature. God doesn't look a label on your shirt to see if you're in his club. He looks at whether or not you placed your trust in the only one (Jesus) who can take your place for the wrongs you commited against Him . He loves you but cannot be with you in a sinful state. Since Christians believe that the only way that one can spend eternity with God is put their trust in Jesus, then it does become urgent to warn others of what they believe to be true.

If they are following their own teaching correctly they will accept you as you are. If I was not into God and some christan was on me about it: this would be my approach:
If this is not a matter of life or death then I would say to them, "let me be." If it is, then I will be willing to consider that I need to open up and learn more. In the later case, they are warning you not because they don't accept you but because they care.

Some are insecure in their beliefs and by winning converts it makes them feel more secure in their delusion.
Others think that if others do what they call "sin" that god's wrath will be upon us all.
Others who really believe think that they are saving you from eternal torment. If I were a Christian I would be out trying to save everyone I could or in an insane asylum because I went nuts thinking about how most of the people who ever lived, including most of my friends and loved ones, are going to be eternally tortured.

I know Jesus and i want with all my heart and soul for you to know him too! I want you to know the amazing happiness, peace and love God has for you. We longs for you to know him so he can bless you all your life.
I have lived without God in my life and I've lived with God in my life and let me tell you the latter is the only way to go. If you've ever taken a great trip and its felt to good for words, then times that by a billion and that's the feeling God gives you. Nothing on this earth can give you that feeling of "out of this world joy and contentment, nothing!!".
Christians want all Gods people, you and everyone else, to know him and that feeling. Some Christian go about it the wrong way because they get frustrated. They can't make you see unless you want to see God.
This life is a choice, a choice whether you except Jesus into your life or you just live your life your way. Unfortunately, your way won't get you to eternity with God Almighty. You only have to meet him/God half way, and he will be there to take your hand and show you the fullness of his joy and love. That's the smiple truth. Are you willing to take that leap of faith? Go on, what have you got to loose? just your life and this life is meaningless, our eyes must be on eternity because that's when you will truly live.

The simple answer is that if you think differently than anybody, they think that you are wrong.(Not as in immoral, I mean, but as in incorrect.)
They also probably think that you are going to go to Hell, which makes them feel sorry for you. They feel obligated to,"turn your life around". They think they are doing you a favor by trying to convert you into a Christian. Try explaining that they needn't worry about your going to Hell, because you don't believe that you will, and also because if God is real, He would not hold them accountable for your not being a Christian.

because they've been indoctrinated from birth that they have to believe and they have to go out and anyone who doesn't believe this is going to go to hell
Now why a loving god would let a hell exist is something that usually isn't thought about or when it is some really special mental gymnastics (that I like to call christian logic) is used to explain it.

If you ever meet Jesus you will fully understand how your life can be better. But seriously yes we can accept that you dont' want Jesus, but understand that your life can even be better then it now is with Christ in a Christian's opinion.
