I have read several books on the subject, watched interviews with "experts", and read online theories.

I'm just curious as to what you all believe, and what type of evidence you have to back it up. I know, "evidence" is such a vague term for this question, but I'm looking for more personal experiences/things you've witnessed.

Why do we leave out things that we feel are "irrelevant for the times"? Don't tell me it is the Old Testament, and don't give me 500 pages of scripture. I have read the bible many times. If the Old Testament was null and void there would be many things, such as the ten comandments that we could ignore, but plenty of people use the ten commandments as ammunition for arguments. Use your brains and give me an educated answer. Thank you.

what do u think? u think they buy a fresh new tree every year? wouldn't it be pretty hypocritical to be all "green peace" and then chop a tree?

We Catholics take it to the Church to settle the dispute.

At times I am scared at how little some people know about other cultures or countries!

Is it that bad for our children to learn world geography, world literature and world history?

Is it enough just to learn about your own culture?

I ask this, because on many occasions when I tell people I'm from Mexico, their first reaction is... where in New Mexico? or... Wow! Nice and warm there.. (not all of Mexico is on the beach)...

My husband and I disagree about whether Santa wraps gifts. I was raised that the gifts Santa brought on Christmas morning were not wrapped. If for some reason they were, they had to be in totally different paper. My husband however, was raised that everything Santa brought was wrapped. What did your parents do or what do you do for your children??

I mean, before you have your own thoughts to develop your own rationale, leaders of christianity ingrain fear and guilt for doing what they don't say into children's brains. Before they have the formative understanding of why they are doing what they are doing, their parents and communities 'make' them become baptized and confirmed.

Basically all the rules, stories, preachings, etc, are forced into children's minds before they have proper understanding or learned wisdom to think for themselves. How is this not mind control or brainwashing?
