If you need to acknowledge christ as your savior before you get into heaven, does that mean that everyone in the history of mankind that came before jesus was born went to hell automatically? Cause that's just silly...sillyer than like...the whole concept of religion itself that is.

Ok, you can debate weather or not he was the son of God, or weather God even exists, but it surprises me how many people I have seen lately who have said that Jesus "might have existed" or "never existed." Actually, the Romans kept very accurate records, and they have the record of many accounts simialr to those from the Gospels of Jesus ministry and his death, and also accounts of the commotion that was created when a crowd of over 500 people "claimed" to have seen him walking around after he had been crucified. You ask me to show you proof? I have posted these links before, and I will do it again here now, but the fact is if you want to know the truth you will actively seek it for yourself. This is the stuff they don't teach you in history class people...

hi, years ago my church did a play and it was acted out to a piece of music in which jesus and the devil fight. the devil thinks he has won till jesus sorts him out, it was really powerful i can not remember wot it was called for the life of me, any suggestions

Why do you call your priest father, when the Bible tells you not to?
Call no man Father apoun the earth, for such is your Father in Heaven.Please do not tell me that your priest is your spiritual father on earth. Context dictates that very thing. Call no-man (spiritaul) father on earth. God does not expect you to call your priest father in the secular since right? So if you do then it could only be in the spirit form. Just wondering

I mean why did Judas agree with the high priests and take the Silver, i heard it was because of his mother dying or something like that, and did'nt he know he will betray Jesus and never believed what Jesus belived in, is Judas in heaven because he hung himself as that it kind of repenting

I'm buying something for my boyfriend's little brother and sister a gift this year. I got some of their gifts , but I want to put something out side , that is a small gift on thier gift bgs. I already have candy canes .I'm going to put deimon cards on the boy , but I dont know what to get the girl. She's 12 years old . I was raised in the 60s and 70s in a Southern Baptist town. Most residents were regular church goers, the town was segregated into white and "colored", most whites were Dixiecrats and then Moral Majority. I was taught the following items were sins that would lead to hell:
drinking alcohol
smoking tobacco
females wearing make-up and short skirts
having sex or marriage between whites and blacks
if you were Catholic or Communist
homosexuality
pre-marital sex

Are these items still sins? Why or why not? If some are no longer considered sins because the church was wrong about that behavior, could the church be wrong about other behaviors?

Why or why not?

If you are offended...do you find that you are easily offended? Do you find that you spend a lot of time hiding under your bed? If you haven't been offended by 10am each day, do you start going through withdrawal? Are you an offence junkie? Should the production crew be stoned in accordance with the Old Testament for being a big bunch of jerks?

If you aren't offended, are you planning on seeing it?

Yes, I'm totally poking fun. I read that some religious groups are offended that it is being released on Christmas and that religious music is used in the movie. I'm amazed that: 1) some people would actually expend the energy to worry about something like this, and 2) that it's even possible to draw some sort of bizarre Twilight Zone parallel between a pathetic slasher movie and the birth of Jesus.

I have decided that Christmas is no longer about Jesus, love, and compassion. These days, Christmas is more about spending, arguing, and spitting matches.

As a minority, I have felt like we do get discriminated at times....but even minorities discriminate against each other. Even when I was a little girl I tried to make friends with an African American little boy and he told me he didn't like Mexicans. What do people have against Mexicans and other races. Every time I see a painting, drawing, etc. of the Flood, it usually consists of the Ark sailing through a vast ocean, breaking through the waves.

Why do they rarely ever show human and animal corpses floating around in that water? After all, that IS how it would have looked. There would have been dead animals getting tossed around by the waves. There also would have been dead human cadavers (of men, women, children, and infants alike) floating around in that vast ocean.

Why don't they ever show that? Why not show it like it was instead of making it into some pleasant story, when it's really a tale of death, gore, and destruction.
