If you need to acknowledge christ as your savior before you get into heaven, does that mean that everyone in the history of mankind that came before jesus was born went to hell automatically? Cause that's just silly...sillyer than like...the whole concept of religion itself that is.

Shalom Monkey,

Modern day Christians are no different from the Pharisees that Yeshua condemned of throwing aways the Keys of Knowledge. Or utilizing the scriptures in a literal fashion with rituals and traditions. Christianity based their beliefs upon misinterpreted Paul scriptures rather than Yeshua's teachings himself and remember the scriptures Paul wrote for the gentiles were milk or elementary concepts. Because they were to paganistic to understand the deeper mysteries of God, which he said they would view as foolishness.

The literal interpretation has many silly loop holes like the one you just named. And according to their elementary understanding of the scriptures you will have a few people who say yes they go to hell and a few people who say no they don't because even in their own religion they suffer from a divided state aka tower of babel syndrome. Neither can have proof that confirms your claim or goes against.

Truth of the matter is the scriptures are allegoric and as early church father Origen rightfully stated: “Scripture contains an unhistorical element in-woven with the history, in order that the worthlessness of the latter may drive us to seek the spiritual meaning”. This is to say when you look at the scripture as history as the Christians do then it will make no sense, just like how Yeshua gave parables to the multitude but spoke plainly to his disciples. So is it with the scriptures, they are parables to the multitude of spiritually flat-lined but speak plainly to the spiritually discerning.

And to fully answer your question the samething happened to the men and women before Yeshua as the men and women of today. They taste death and are thrown back into this element because they fail to observe the laws of God. Also heaven is not a place, its a condition of mind. You don't go into heaven you grow into heaven.

Peace

Aza

The Bible tells us that Jesus was the first to go to heaven. All the people who died before the way to heavenly life was opened up, are still sleeping in death and are awaiting a resurrection, We are told that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous and these will be brought back to life here on earth and be given the opportunity to live forever in total peace and security, where there will be no pain, sorrow, sickness or death. God will make all things new.

No that means that everyone that followed the old covenant rules went to heaven as well as. In Romans 2:12All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.) 16This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. This means that those who did not know God, or Jesus, and had NO WAY of knowing them will be spared because they knew in their hearts what was right and did so. But those who know God or Jesus- just heard about them-have NO excuse.

The answer is no, of course not, and then again, yes. Christians believe that Jesus was God incarnate. That means he came from God. So anyone who worshipped God before Jesus came, is in heaven. And if they didn't know about Jesus or God, they are in Heaven. If you think religion is silly, wait until you die. You are in big trouble if you are a non-believer. If I am silly, then I am just silly. But if YOU are wrong, you are more than silly, you are doomed to life outside of Heaven forever.

Here's how it is; there will be a millenium and afterwards a final judgement. Those who died without knowledge of Jesus or those who didn't have the chance to hear and accept or reject the gospel will still have that chance during the millenium. They will be in a place of waiting where they're neither in "heaven" or hell" until the final judgement. You're right, it doesn't make sense to punish someone for lack of knowledge. Same as the idea that babies who die don't go to heaven. They're without sin, why wouldn't they?

I would say this is one of those questions that noone can really answer based on any fact other than moral preferences. It's kind of like if a child who dies without being old enough to understand and acknowledge God does he goto hell? I ask this because we're supposedly born sinless into sin, so isnt that contradictory?

No they did not go to hell - before the savior came it was necessary that they had faith in God and believed a savior were to come - all the the OT writings leads to the coming of Jesus

No - people who lived prior to Jesus were looking forward in time to a Savior as we look backwards in time to His birth, death and resurrection. As for those who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus (prior to His birth or after His death), if they truly sought/seek God, He will be there for them. The Bible states that the truth is written on each and every heart.

This is a very good question. I think that everybody that came before Christ was forgiven because they had no idea what was right or of what was wrong. This is really a question to be answered by a professional. So if you want an answer to this question ask a peacher.

no, that is not the case.
Perhaps some study of God's word would help you understand the Truth.
Ask God to open your eyes.
"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us that are saved it is the power of God."
1 Corinthians 1:18

Before Jesus died on the cross for our sins, mankind was subject to the laws of the Old Testament.
His death ushered in God's age of Grace
where salvation is offered by the Grace of God.
You can't earn it.
you can't buy it.
you can't demand it.
It is the gift of God to ALL who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Fairly simple matter, really.
