Well, the best way would be to actually go to Australia, but I suppose that is not possible. Try listening to music by Australia artists like Divinyls or Men at Work.

Different people can mimick accents with varying degrees of success. I was able to pull off a serviceable australian accent for an entire night after watching a few movies, talking to an Aussie friend a while and having a few beers. Some people will never be able to pull it off.

More than anything, it is pronunciation of the vowel sounds and cadence. Listen to the way Aussies speak, and after a while you can pick up the rythm.

a part from moving to Australia, rent some movies with an Australian theme. See if you can pick up some of the dialect

If you have the resources, I would spend time in Australia. If not, rent a lot of movies based in Australia (like Crocodile Dundee) and keep repeating what they say.

Go rent some movies or television series (Crocodile Hunter). Listen carefully and practice. Try listening to your voice on a tape recorder to see how you are progressing. Good Luck!

go on youtube or some other website and look up videos from austrailia, pratice the accent. it takes you 24 times to memorize something. give it a shot!
