Last year my sister and I drove around the area looking at lights. We found the prettiest displays to be east of Gessner, along and/or south of Memorial. Usually the prettiest lights are going to be in your most expensive neighborhoods. The Woodlands has a Christmas light competition every year, so that would be a wonderful place to go look at lights.

There is a display at Hermann Park on the weekends , Santa's Wonderland in College Station if you want to drive that far, River oaks and Memorial always have pretty lights, there is also a subdivision called Shephard Park Terrace that has streets with many decorations. I have been doing my research online and it is hard to find places.
