Perfect time to ask this question my best friend is a girl and she is right here with me so I will answer first and then she will respond:
As a gay man, I actually enjoy a longer slightly thinner penis, this is because the position that I enjoy sex is standing up, shorter penised (new word?) have a difficult time in this position
I (the female) prefer a BIG FAT one to a long skinny one. I always say it needs to scrape the sides to make it feel good

Width, or 'girth' is actually more important. With a wider penis, you will apply more pressure to a larger surface area of the women's vagina. The length has nothing to do with that, except for reaching areas further down the passage of the vagina. But, if you haven't got the girth, then you will not hit as many nerve endings at the same time when you reach the end.
Don't sweat it. The average penis can get the job done. And never underestimate the power of foreplay, especially with your fingers. Fingers never go limp, and can bend in ways a penis can't. Plus, yours can reach spots the woman herself cannot reach.

Well hung guys often seem to think they are waving some sort of magic wand and that they don't need to do much else.
Average adult flaccid penis is in the range 2.5 to 4.5 inches (6-11 centimeters)
Average adult erect penis is in the range 4 to 8 inches (10-20 centimeters)
Most guys on-line round up the figures when they talk about their size. You're at the top scale of the average guys.
Size doesn't really matter to me, but it's nice when "the hand fits the glove". Guys that are too big are painful and not much fun to be with.

I think they are both important, one doesn't work as well without the other. I can't imagine having to choose one or the other, but I think a small width would be less satisfying than a shorter penis, unless said penis was only an inch or two, see they are both important.
