As a Catholic, I think I'll be okay as far as the eternal life is concerned. What fate lies ahead for us Catholics in your opinion?

For those of you who jump to conclusions, I don't fear death. I'm positive that I'll make it to Heaven after a little cleansing in Purgatory.

I think that it is not about denomination. It is giving away your old life and being reborn. There will be Catholics and other denominations as well.
See you there Catholic boy.

I left the Catholic Church at age 21...more than 35 years ago, having been raised the usual route, Catholic schools through 12 grade and all the abuse from the nuns, priests and parents.
I believe the Catholic Church will come to end some time during this century. Like most things, the final determine feature will be as result of lack of money, signifying the lack of interest of any participants.
Catholic Church is still firmly implanted in the Dark Ages and sees no hope of changing. There are hardly any Catholics that can or do live up to its teachings..eg most of them Will practice some form of birth control, nor will they all believe women to be so inferior, or that celebicy is really possible in the majority of humans.
Its on the way out, IMO.

I think Catholics are only doomed to a sentence of about 75 years. That is how long the average person lives, give or take 5 years. Once you die, you'll be free. Free as in nothing. Because there is nothing after you die. Just death. So while you worry about what happens when you die, and try to follow some volcano god's rules until then, I am happy, and living like a human being. Why fear death? Death and consciousness cannot exhist at the same time, so why worry?

There's much more to eternal life than mere salvation.

Catholics have always belonged to the only church Jesus ever founded, and as such, Catholics have always enjoyed unrestricted access to the sacraments, as well as the entire sacred deposit of faith ... God's super-abundant grace, plus all his revealed truth (not just the written scriptures) ... so Catholics will likely be judged to a higher standard than will those of other groups.

That said, any Catholic who chooses to practice their faith according to the constant teachings of the holy and universal church, and in cooperation with God's grace, might also merit a greater reward.

The concept of SALVATION deals most appropriately with unmerited, supernatural deliverance from Satan, the evil one.

The concept of personal MERIT explains how, ONCE SAVED, our deliberate works might affect how God actually determines our eternal reward.

Understanding merit is the key to understanding the true nature of our divine calling, and it can also provide those of us who are still alive here on earth with a faint glimpse of our eternal destiny in Christ ... Catholic or not.

No, Catholics are saved by Christ through faith. The Catholic leaders will be in trouble for mixing the pagan traditions of men with the true Gospel message. God bless the Catholics.

It's not a matter of whether you are a Catholic or a Baptist or an Episcopalian or a Presbyterian and on and on. It's a matter of what you believe about Jesus Christ. If you ask forgiveness for your sins based on the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and allow the Spirit of God to begin to transform your life, you will spend eternity with God.

If you trust in yourself, your own good works, and being a good person to get you to God, the Bible teaches that even your best works done out of your sinful nature are like "filthy rags" compared to the holiness of God. The only was for us to approach God is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

As a Catholic we live each day to become more holy. So we are saved(at baptism), are being saved, and hoped to be saved. We believe salvation is a process, a process to be more and more like Christ every day. Not that works can get us into heaven for only God can save us but our response to Gods love is faith and works. God Bless!

As long as you are:
praying
fasting
going to mass
participate in the sacraments
obey best you can all of the commandments
You will be fine and even then you'll likely go to purgatory
but the amount of time spent there is up to you and us.

I'm catholic too. When the antichrist begins his small and pathetic kingdom of one government on earth, we will be the first he will murder! But we will have peace in heaven, and watch the good vs evil fight it out.God bless.

well if anyone hasn't accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Believes Jesus Christ is LORD and that God raised Him from the dead 3 days after He was crucified, then no one will have "eternal life" with God.
