I was raised that Santa's presents were not wrapped as well; however, to solve the problem for you and your spouse, try wrapping half of the presents with different wrapping paper then the ones from mom and dad. Leave all the big items unwrapped and wrap the smaller ones to give the little ones a little more excitement on Christmas morning.

The presents that Santa leaves at my house are not wrapped. I have 3 kids and all Santa does is put a label or gift tag on the gift so we know who it is for. Presents from family and friends are wrapped. It makes life so much easier when your kids get older and you don't need to stay up all night wrapping presents and making sure it's different paper and that your "spy kids" don't question the wrapping paper in the garbage.

I wrapped a few but the biggest ones were left unwrapped with a note to the child from Santa. I always made sure to use paper that wasn't texture or pattern or color like any of the other paper I used too Also the stocking is ALWAYS from Santa and had a apple, orange,a little bit of candy, some coins way in the bottom, like half dollars, and then some trinkets of hair stuff,a new hair brush, always a new toothbrush, and just whatever else I could find to fill it with

Wrapped, and in different paper from other gifts. They look special, and always come in paper with pictures of Santa on it.
Exception - big items, like a bike or a doll house. Those are assembled, put under the tree with a gift tag, so the kids know who's getting this one.

My mom did both. Most presents were wrapped, unless they were an odd shape. I wrap most Santa presents for my daughter. Here is a tip-use different wrapping paper and print out tags on the computer. I realized that there was no Santa when I figured out that the wrapping paper and handwriting were the same as my Mom's.

Growing up, everything was wrapped. I can't remember if Santa's wrap was different. If it wasn't we were too stupid to notice. Now with my 2 year old, Santa is going to wrap in a different paper and be responsible for the stocking.

My parents never wrapped gifts from Santa Clause-and I haven't either. The best presents-toys they wanted and so forth, always came from Santa and being unwrapped always made it clear that they were from him. When my kids wake up on Christmas morning and see all the toys, they scream with delight-Santa came, he came!!! Rather than having to go through all the gifts to see which ones were from him. Besides, Santa Clause has so many presents to deliver, that the elves just don't have the time to wrap all of them. So, they just put name tags on them.....

My parents left our BIG Santa item unwrapped and after we all were in bed they would sneak it under the tree. After we were older and Santa was not just an image, those gifts were wrapped but were done and put under the tree after we all went to bed. Still my parents managed to give us some nice surprises. So I naturally did the same for my children who are now grown and have little ones of their own.

We always wrap the presents from Santa. Sometimes we leave a couple unwrapped. We always use different paper that isn't used for any other gifts.

They were always wrapped, unless it was something that's impossible to wrap, like a bike.
I wholeheartedly agree on getting different paper...I always made sure that the Santa gifts for my daughter were wrapped in a different paper. And, FYI, I usually wrapped these up LONG before Christmas eve...no need to "stay up all night" over it.
