What makes people think they can say things like :
"May Jesus bless you and fill you with his peace and Love and Joy"
To other people, especially random strangers.

Yes I know they mean no harm. But its disrespectful, and I especially hate it when they say they will pray for you when you dont ask for it.
Maybe you dont want to be prayed for??

OH And when they dissagree with your religious path and say they will pray for your soul and yada yada yada....

I want to know... What makes you guys think you can say this stuff to random strangers?
Think about it for a minute... Yes your trying to do good in your eyes, but to the other person your just annoying the living hell outta them and making them dislike the Christian religion even more...

So I want to know why. What gives you the "God Givin Right" to pray for someone elses souls or say "Jesus Bless u yada yada"

Not everyones Christian and wants to be blessed by him and filled with his love ya know!

The discovery of carvings on a snake-shaped rock along with 70,000-year-old spearheads nearby has dramatically pushed back the earliest evidence for ritual behavior, or what could be called religion. The finding, which researchers have yet to formally publish, comes from a cave hidden in the Tsodilo Hills of Botswana, a mecca of sorts for the local people, who call it the Mountain of the Gods.

No, dear. You heard it HERE first.

In my biog of John Lennon, NOT I might add published in America, but published in 1990 in the UK and the Czech Republic, I argue for an end to animal slaughter for food and/or clothing and urge Parliament in the UK, which is where I live, to ban animal slaughter altogether.

True, what the drug companies and other multinationals are doing to Third World countries should not happen to a dog (pardon the expression)

But do not discount the equal tragedies which occur in industrialized, so-called First World nations where inequality is even greater. There are people who must live with tumours until they expire from pain or blockage simply because the medical care in the West, when and where existent, has become lethargic and uncaring. Possibly because we now share universal guilt and suffering. Thus what is caused by the West in the West is marginalised because of what is happening in the Third World.

It is a funny old world!

We appear to be a group of people out to get something for ourselves. We want to go to Heaven, we want to keep from going to hell. Too many Christians say "If I get to Heaven someday." For Pete's sakes, if you are a Christian and even you don't know if you are going to Heaven or not, why bother. And top that off with "I'm going to Heaven and you're not", that just ices the cake.
Then how about the people with the 150 things you have to do to be saved. Where do they come up with all that? IF GOD IS ABSOLUTE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTICE, (AND HE IS). THEN GOD DOES NOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS. The Thief on the cross did not GET BAPTIZED, DID NOT GO TO CHURCH, DID NOT SAY HE WAS SORRY, DID NOT ASK FORGIVENESS. HE ONLY SHOWED HIS FAITH BY SAYING "REMEMBER ME". "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."
We need to express to others-the unconditional love of God, not the conditions we want to place upon them. ITS GODS LOVE NOT OUR EXPECTATIONS AGREE?

Why are there some christians that judge people by saying "You will burn in hell" or " You are a sinful, evil person" even though their bible says "judge not lest ye be judged"?
P.S. I'm NOT saying ALL christians are like that, just some.

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[d]; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one."Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'[e]? If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken— what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world?"

Why is it so hard for Christians to envision that they have a divine self, and jesus said he was set apart to do these things, in no ways deminishes our higher soul's diivinity. Jesus says we are divine to here, why argue with him. We may not be define but our soul self seems to by jesus words. This is very gnostic

What are your views on Latin? I know most people are derisory about it as it's not a spoken language, but I feel so strongly that it's important as a means of tracing the roots of our language. Helpful, too for guessing unknown vocabulary we meet. I'm sure I shall be considered eccentric or loony for suggesting this, but the new book-'Amo, Amas, Amat....and all that' will go some way to support my theory...........I hope?

You know the theme music, or at least the first few bars. Perhaps we would do a public service to collect the "I swear it happened just this way, and it is inexplicable" types of experiences. Of course, Sturgeon's Law would apply, but here's what just happened to me.

Because the disc is one of the most significant ones I own. The one with the episode about black magic from 21 Jump Street, the fifth season. The incredibly spooky, hauntingly insightful one about black magic. And I just cannot swallow the coincidence.

I had put it in the machine some hours ago, and perhaps this is no more than my not knowing that is a bad idea. But the power was off, and I've left them in before when I go to take a nap, and they've never been hurt before. Just this one.

What was it James Bond said about "enemy action" with regard to coincidence?

Do you think its possible for people to have same-sex fantasies and that to be where it begins and ends...JUST a fantasy? As in, not something they would or intend to act on. Or do you think this is just a manifestation of unfufilled same-sex desires that will eventually come out and/or get bigger to the point where the person feels they need more than just the fantasy?
Note- please don't try to give me personal advice on this, as I'm not asking about this from my experience, just hypothetically. Also, please don't tell me about how being gay, or having same sex attractions is wrong. I don't care to hear that whining.

The only reason I'm asking this is because my friend's boyfriend/my other friend told her that he was "worried about their future children" because she "didn't have morals." It's already been settled between them but I just want to know if there is anyone else who feels the same, and why.
