Can you share a story of a 'not so wise' oldie... or a 'much wiser' younger person... I'll leave the ages open all the way...

Dear Uncle Wayne: I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the answer you recommend, though VERY good, is as old as you and me, and it has been doing the rounds online all the years I've use the Net... eight in total.
But yes, it's good. Though I'm afraid it is merely 'borrowed' by our friend in here, so slow down with Ben Franklin... he's heard it from the original creator of the phrase... and hears it still, I'm sure;-)

Yes it's true, it's true.
Experience determines a lot for a person to be wise. To be wise is so different with being knowledgeable. Textbooks are so different from experience. Theories are so different from reality.
So it doesn't necessarily mean that if you are older, you are wiser.

This is an invitation to pick on Bush. His decision to go to war has opened Pandora's Box. Too bad he made the right decision for the wrong reason. One dumb thing that really cost him is the people who read his mail. The stupid bunch are actually morons.
The second part about the young being Naive is a paradox. The word Naive is to read the BEST Answers selection of the Questioner. How much emphasis must you put into a word?
Individual accounts of those that are exceptions to the rule are very modest. The Wiser and most likely are older. They paid their dues and have learned their don'ts.

The exact answer given by Cartman:
"When I was 18 I couldn't believe how little my parents new, and how they manged to make it to their age being so stupid.
when I was 22 I couldn't understand how my parents managed to learn so much in 4 years."
Dear Cartman,
What a wonderful answer. I am so impressed by your insight, pace of delivery, sincerity, and originality. Your answer rings true to me, and I imagine it will help all man-kind to understand the transitory basis of knowledge and wisdom.
I recommend that you send that to the “Readers Digest” so that the whole world can share your wisdom.
Please e-mail me your real name, so that whenever I quote your wonderful discovery, I can give you credit for originating that “maxim”. I can hardly wait to get to Heaven, and tell Ben Franklin about your original discovery.
Dear JJ, I vote for Cartman, he has elucidated the essence of your question. He has proven that young people (in the end) are a lot more savvy than us old folks. -Lam Poon
Dear JJ, I thought "Ben Franklin" was a rather nice touch to my satire.- signed again, - Lampoon.
(Now, might we dig deep and see the profound essence (maybe subconscious essence) of your question, the revelation of Cartman's answer (Stay with me on this.), and blah, blah, blah.- signed, - Chagrin.)
smiles -

I sure hope you are reading this, cause my regular e-mail is snafured, it seems even Yahoo's secret e- mail is not working for me. (My ISP tells me to be patient and that any mail I have sent out will eventually get to the recipient) (and visa versa)So if I have offended you or bored you or whatever, just respond as a detail entry in your above question block. (I am not a ..... I can't think of that word ... (irritating guy who follows you around scaring you)-- I am not one of those ''chaps" - say the word and I will stop E-mailing you cause it wouldn't get to you or let me know it did anyway. Oh, I would stop chatting in this box, if you say the word. "Harmony is harmony, Disharmony is the most common sin against God" - I wish you well. -
PS: I have sent you a few notes at the end of some of my answers to other folks. (Hoping you would read some of my answers and get my messages to you at the bottom)
Remember my profile- I really am from a little town in Arkansas, the backwoods, to say the least. Dirt roads here are not uncommon. (Little town get last priority when it comes to internet services.)
uninterested readers please except my apology for this intrusion.
PS: I am having trouble modifying this block of info, so sorry about the jumbled order of these messages

It's a fact of life that younger are generally smarter and wiser. Isaac Newton disporved all of his much older contemporaries in Physics and Astronomy. Aristotle was much older when he proposed his erroneous "truths" about gravitation. Bill Gates was only 19 when he started Microsoft.
Michelle De Nostredamme fortold of the younger Scotish knight beating the older King night of England in a joust match. The younger guy was a smarter jouster. Or else he'd lose right ?
I was beating older Chess and wrestling opponents when I was much younger then them. Younger brains and muscles work better. As for surgery. I'd rather have an older surgeon with more experience than a fresh med student doing brain surgery on me. But.when it comes to chosing new leaders. I prefer younger ones. They've got longer lives ahead therefore a lot more to lose.

I wish more poeple would realize this fact. I have too many stories to tell. One is I had a female boss who was older and claimed to be wiser about the distruptive and foolish ways of the male ego, but she never reallized that she had the same problem with her own female ego as the men she complained about. She was just as controlling and domineering. When she heard a much younger person point out that many women have big egos just like men do because we're all human, she wouldn't here it, and claimed the person was too young to know any better.
She continues to be in denial of the fact that women have just as big of egos as men and she's one of them. And still treats her staff unfairly because of it just like a big ego man would. And too old to listen to anyone. A shame.

You cant put experience into someone they have to learn for themselves. You can only get the building blocks from any type of schooling in the world and you learn far more from what you do wrong in life.I have spent over 25 years travailing to many country's and have learnt many things but am knowable but not always wise.I have been in engineering all my life teaching company staff the workings of there factory but i can still learn things even now the person who knows everything has never been born.If they know every thing they are full of S*** and know only how to bullshit.

Well I'm older and, I think, wiser, yet I still have to rely on my 14 year old to programme the timer on the video/dvdplayer, attend to problems with the computer, and explain the new methods of maths calcualtions, so draw your own conclusions. I still spell better though!

Example of wisdom in youth - my 5 yr old telling me God is a woman. When asked who told him that he said he just knew. For an example of a 'not so wise' oldie just look at any number of politicians...

i agree...
but i still believe in "older is wiser"
if someone is wise when he's young, he would still be much wiser when he's older...
and the young naive will become wiser with age.... relative to his pace.

Older who has not one to school, no opportunity for interaction hence no exposure is said to be not wise. Younger is not naive if one has the opportunity to educate himself, who has destiny because one started good at home and work for his own deelopment is wise.
