I met a new friend around 2 weeks back and we're really good friends now..so now he wants me to hang out with him and his other close friends, and i know they're all nice people..but the only thing is that i'm very shy and quiet so i'm worried that his friends may not talk to me very much... i'll probably be meeting them tomorrow at college..so what am i supposed to do if i feel shy in front of his friends?

I know I was in the subconscious and seeing images, how i get conscious even when asleep is not clear to me. All i know is that it was an afternoon and there was this light approaching ...i was wondering since maybe i am half-asleep..it must be coming from the window where I was lying down...

but Lo...it was even getting more luminous...i felt i could get up but i can't coz my body is to heavy asleep but i feel myself getting up to reach for the light to understand it or observe whatever it is...then suddenly the light caused a blowing wind to make me chill and then i thought the electric fan is on, since i am half conscious but then when i woke up electric fan is not even plugged!

ah...if u can relate...you are most welcome.

Hypothetically speaking you'd be sent to hell for not having been a [insert another religion] even though even god admits you lived the perfect life aside from the fact of choosing the wrong religion. How would you feel about this? Do you think this is just? If yes, why? If you don't, why are you so okay with good people who are Scientologists, Atheists, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, etc. going to your version of hell for not following Jesus? Please be as honest as possible.

I am from South India. I have 3 boys ages 14, 12 and 8. All of them got earrings when they were small as per our tradition. They still wear earrings. I took off my earrings after graduation after I started working.

My boys do not mind the earrings and do not want to take them off. In fact my oldest changes his earring from a few sets that he has. So what age should I ask them to take off the earrings or just let it be? These days not too many boys wear earrings after they grow old. However most young boys have hole marks in their ears. Does anyone has boys who has earrings or had earrings?

If God does not make exceptions, and if He is totally righteous He cannot. The thief on the cross, did not say he was sorry, did not go to church, was not baptized, and did no good deeds, the bible records no penance, and if it was necessary for him to be saved, the bible would have recorded the penance. The bible says that the thief on the cross simply believed in his dying moments on the cross and said "Remember me." And Jesus said "This day you will be with me in paradise." Like it or lump it----"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved." Faith alone. We really are saved by grace (def. undeserved favor.) If grace is grace, it is undeserved, and you cannot earn it or deserve it. God does it for you, not you doing it for God, Agree? If you don't then show me how God could make an exception, and still be absolutely righteous.

At this moment in history it would seem that Fundamentalist Christians are in a push to force religion into the affairs of the state at a level unprecedented in history. From state sponsored religious displays on public property,to the attempt to teach "intelligent design" in schools which is really nothing more than an attempt to use junk science to justify teaching creationism in public schools. A venue which it has no right for entry into. Why aren't Americans putting up a better fight against these actions, are they willfully ignorant of what's going on or do they simply not care? Every country that has ever allowed too much control of the state by religion has suffered greatly for it,if nothing else the teaching of creation as science will be yet another act pushing our education system closer to being the laughing stock of the world. America needs to stop this move quickly, wouldn't you agree?

Just imagine that for some reason that you or anyone else cannot understand god chooses to send you to hell. There is no way around this no matter how good you are in this life or how much you beg to get into heaven. You will spend eternity suffering in hell. Would you still love and worship god? Why?

Be honest AND GIVE YOUR REASONS. Don't just say "yes" to keep appearances as the "holy christian/jew/muslim/etc." that you are. This is the internet and it is impersonal. Nobody will judge you.

I , like other people , are totally bamboozled by this 'creeping' nonsense. I think it is a detestable type of middle class snobbery , a 'banning society' and if you don't comply , you are completely ignored. Well , sorry , I don't want to belong to such a society that treats others like lepers , just because they don't live their lives the way they are told to. What I call "The Health Police" BAN THIS PC CROWD!!!!. A form of mild Nazi-ism.

theologians say that the story of noah was written after about 5 to 600 years after his life ended. (thats if such a person ever existed) now since the gap between his life and the actual writing of his life details creates such a huge unbridgeable gap how can any person, religious or not take his life story as a historical/literal truth?

English isn't my native language, and I don't know what I should put in the following parenthesis. "a" or "the"?

"Between 1860 and 1900, ( a / the ) government agency called the US Patent Office issued patents for more than a half million different inventions."

Thanks in advance!
