They have proved that a large flood happened around the time of Noah. But just because it floods in one part of the world, does not mean the entire earth was flooded

We cant take the story of Noah literally for more reasons than one can count. First of all is the sheer impossibility of the animals themselves moving to and from Noah's location in order to even be on the ark. Let us imagine an American Bison trying to cross not only thousands of land miles but also oceans in order to accomplish this trip. Also there are pieces of historical evidence that would show other societies existing during what the theologians believe was the time of the flood, and yet somehow those societies avoided destruction, how did that happen? Are theologians so far off on the timeline as to completely destroy any possibility of the Bible being treated as even a potential historical document,or did those other societies get some special dispensation from God from his "worldwide" flood? At best it is most likely some event which occurred on a much smaller scale, with a large society severely damaged by massive flooding, which was over time blown up into the story of Noah.

First of all, most of the stories in the Old Testament are pure fiction. They were made to create an "Answer" to common questions on the Origin and then to bolster the earlier tales.
Noah seems to be one such.
The Great Flood, however, might have been a "real" event with the polar caps melting due to a shift in the Earths axis which caused the region of the Middle East to be flooded.
There are many evidences to prove that the Earths axis did, in fact , shift more than once. The first brought the Ice Age which destroyed all the Dinosaurs and forced the marine dinosaurs to evolve into smaller things, though many fish like the coelcanth were actually alive and not extinct, as was earlier thought.
This shift in the axis would have created a sudden meltdown of the polar caps which would have a lot of lands inundated for a short period of time.
Noah, one of the Jewish "Prophets" could have used this to claim his story.
You'll notice that the rather elaborate list of animals shows only the local fauna to that region and doesn't mention fauna from the other regions. That's because of the limited information that Noah, then, had.
In all likelihood, an Ark might've been hastily built and the people of his tribe could have been saved in that "Flood" by it. However, they wouldn't have had more than their domestic and food animals taken on board.
Later on, Noah would've had the idea of using this thing to perpetuate a "Divine Miracle".
People of the eras following him could have contributed more embellishments to the tale.
Hope this helped clear up the matter.
Merry Christmas!!!!

We can take the story of noah and the flood as a historical truth. Long before the age of people were more than 200 years according to Old Testament of the Bible. Such proof is written in other languages ;in paintings; in caves and it passes from generation to generation. For what is written in the Bible is true.
Anyway, you have an very good question in which it requires deeper research. If you are a christian, then it will be easier for you to have some answers. Merry Christmas & a bountiful New Year!

Lets assume that the story of Noah is true along with the bible, I believe it of course but I do not know if you do.
Back then most people could live way past 900 hundred years of age. So it would be right to assume that the person that wrote down the story of Noah actually knew him and was around when things happened.

i like that...a thank you to unfold your faith is nott by using bashing others....thats why a Christian will inform you you're doomed to Hell for no longer believing.... So that's good information that the story of Noah is fake. yet there is much greater information, that purely desires attention and psychological thinking - in simple terms think of of the logistics of housing, feeding and cleansing up after 2 of each andd each species of animal on the earth. impossible. additionally, how do you abode animals that are organic enemies?? Wouldnt the two canines on board have killed the two cats? And the cats - didnt they eat the diverse birds of board?? How appropriate to the lions? Why didnt they eat another animals?? the sole answer is a paranormal one - God assisted Noah in cleansing shyt out of the stables and feeding the animals....yeah, God has no longer something greater effective to do along with his time than freshen up horseshit....inspite of each little thing, he had in simple terms flooded his final introduction, so why no longer take a piece time gig cleansing crap collectively as the situation dries out??

Sura - 71 Noah
Order Of Revelation 71, Verses: 28
http://www.submission.org/suras/sura71.html
That is all about with GOD will and wish.
Arkologists Claim to Have Found Noah's Ark
http://www.islamicweb.com/beliefs/science/noah_ark.htm
http://www.afghanland.com/islam/noah.html
QURAN is the only WORD OF GOD in ORIGINAL/PURE FORM. Reason is clear in the verse below, that GOD promised to protect QURAN.
[15:9] Absolutely, we have revealed the reminder, and, absolutely, we will preserve it.
http://www.submission.org/q-t.html...
The Quranic challenge (since past 1400 years, present and future)
Here are the verses that mention the challenge;
Say, "If all the humans and all the jinns banded together
in order to produce a Quran like this, they could never
produce anything like it, no matter how much assistance
they lent one another." [17:88]
If you have any doubt regarding what we revealed to our
servant, then produce one sura like these, and call upon
your own witnesses against GOD, if you are truthful.
[2:23]
This Quran could not possibly be authored by other than
GOD. It confirms all previous messages, and provides a
fully detailed scripture. It is infallible, for it comes from
the Lord of the universe. If they say, "He fabricated it,"
say, "Then produce one sura like these, and invite
whomever you wish, other than GOD, if you are truthful."
[10:37-38]
If they say, "He fabricated (the Quran)," tell them, "Then
produce ten suras like these, fabricated, and invite
whomever you can, other than GOD, if you are truthful."
[11:13]
Do they say, "He made it all up?" Instead, they are
simply disbelievers. Let them produce a Hadith like this,
if they are truthful. [52:33-34]

Nope!!! THis story was written after the conquest... this gives hope to those people after the envasion on what is the real power of their "God" in terms of the "enemies/evil"...... so do not take it literally..... you might add to another "claim" where they found Noah's Arc....
