Why are there some christians that judge people by saying "You will burn in hell" or " You are a sinful, evil person" even though their bible says "judge not lest ye be judged"?
P.S. I'm NOT saying ALL christians are like that, just some.

even for some Christians it is easy to forget that Jesus gave them a chance but they forget that, and think they have God in their back pocket.

Many Christians forget that they were once clubbin, drinking, lying, stealing, fornicating with him or her or him and her!. Smoking blunts and doing other drugs. Having sex with more people than are members of the churches they attend, fighting, prostituting, dealing drugs, being con artists, convicted felons, commiting adultry. The list could go on and on.

I have never understood why some feel that once they come into the knowledge pf Christ, they are somehow better than someone else! Like Christ did not forgive them for being a sinner!

Many of us were in the world longer that we have been with Christ. Me, in the world 24 years, saved by grace only 6.

We have to remember that our walk must be an example for others and what we are delivered from, and our past trials and tests are a testimony for those who are going through the same thing. Whether or not that person is saved.

If Christians walk around with their noses tooted up at others, they forget what being a Christian is all about! Relaying the message about who Christ Jesus is and what he has done in our lives. I had a pastor who is an ex crack addict. He was addicted to crack 30 years ago, a First Lady who is an ex prostitute, ex- con who is now a powerful woman of God.

God can use ANY ONE THAT HE CHOSES! We are all able to recieve his gift of salvation. Paul was a murder!!! He murdered Christians before he know about Christ! He later became the most know of the desciples!

Christians remember not to judge. We have to use wisdom. It is not to say that when we see our sisters and brothers doing wrong, that we do not correct them. But do so in Love.

I love the way folks who really don't believe The Bible try to quot it.

Jesus was speaking of judging a persons worthiness. Not weather they were Saved or not.

The sad truth is that there is a Hell, and a lot of people are willingly going there. Others are ignorantly going there. Either way they are going. This truth angers, and offends some people, but if I have the option of being warned of impending disaster or not for fear of making me mad, I would rather be warned.

By the way. Jesus spoke on Hell more than He spoke on Heaven.

If you are a sinner and you don`t believe in God , then you will go to hell ! That is not judging , that is a warning !! A worldly example : If I tell you that if you rob a bank and get caught , you will be punished ! I have not judged you , the law has !!! I have told you what will happen if you choose to disobey the written and known law !! The court will judge you on your wordly disobedience , not a Christian !! Just as the Lord will judge you for your sins , not a Christian !!

because they care?

First of all there is a hell and a heaven. When a person comes into the light of Heaven, then they see also the reality of the hell they were saved from. They do not want anyone to go there, so they attempt to share the information with them, not always in a way that will be received, but it usually does come from a deep desire to actually help the other person, not to condemn them.

The type of judgement that Jesus told us to avoid is the condemning type, BUT there is another type which we ARE to do, and that is the discerning type, such as a doctor who has to "judge" how to treat his patient, and you will find that Paul stated that a spiritual person "judges" all things.

The important thing to remember is to do all that we do out of love.

I'm a Christian. But I've had a man that claimed to be a christian stand up and say that to me eye to eye...and let me tell you...it amazed me! I know my mouth fell open. I just stood there and looked at him for the longest. Then I got a good look at him...a really good look, and I couldn't help fill pity, and I know it showed in my face.
The look on my face alone had an affect on that man like I never would have imagined. He apologized to me as I walked away.

hmmmmmmmmmmm

tough question.. maybe.... because they are insane and can't deal with reality? Generally speaking, a lot of christians aren't like that, they are peaceful and do not judge.

Imagine this angry old guy sitting in some clouds with a long white bread and long white hair, missing a little on top. placing people in a neutral zone, while messing around with them and see will they worship him like a pagan god, typing on his laptop keeping score, seeing who will worship him and do as he says. why would matter so much to a god like this.

Thank you for not generalizing that all Christians feel this way. And yes I agree, its very hypocritical for those to say "your gonna roast in hell" and they need to take a long look in thier own backyard so to speak. I grew up in a town that actually condemned dancing in school, and we weren't allowed to have a senior prom because some of these "do-gooders" felt it was sinfull and blasphemous for us to have a dance. But when the town started holding street dances to boost tourism, guess who was out there in full force drinking and getting jiggy? Yup, those very same bible thumpers that denied us our right to have a prom. That confirmed my reasoning there are hypocrites in every religion, but I tend to use my faith as a guideline to live by as I wish to treat others as I wish to be treated in return.

They are self-righteous, and it makes them feel even more righteous to tell you "hey your gonna go to hell".
"Not by righteous deeds have we been saved." That scripture sums it up. People want to share in Christ's accomplishments. Jesus saved us by Himself. But some people cant handle that, and so they say Me and Jesus got me saved.
