i have made so many mistakes it hard to count and right now i have a friend over and we have been on this questioning site for about 2 hours tryin to figure things out. like about hell and stuff.. i really want to become a good person and go to heaven how thou? i mean i kno ur going to say the obvious things pray go to church i do! i just make more mistakes and i dont kno why. im just screwed up i mean i even go to a catholic school to learn more and figure out whats wrong with me. if u can help thank you!

Or should we treat religious people like society treats insane people? I don't advocate making religions illegal, but when I encounter someone who is religious, they immediately lose all intellectual credibility with me. The best way to get rid of religion is to stop pretending like religions are special. If a lot of people believe something crazy it doesn't make it any less crazy. Tax exempt status for religions also has to go. This just serves to proliferate the insanity.

Is the truth not because you were taught?? A learned behavior from your parents as a child growing up in a religious environment? You are probably a product of where you were born. Is this not the real answer to the question, or am I disillusioned? If most theists can willingly and intellectually admit to this, then please, now again, ask yourself why you believe in your god. Your self honor can be the key to breaking those chains that has held you back from being the free thinker you can be. Let all your fears go, they only exist in your emotional brain. Empower yourself by asking intelligent questions and hopefully you can find intelligent/logical answers.

What about the ugly commentary from people like Whoopi Goldberg and so many others who make nasty comments about whites? Is this socially acceptable?

The first such nasty comment that I ever heard was Whoopi's comment in the movie Ghost where she said that Patrick Swayze's character (Sam Wheat) was cute--for a white boy.

So many people are so fired up about gays and I just don't get it. Aren't there real problems in this world we should worry about? What about poverty, hunger, crime, war... why sit around and rant all day about gay people that are doing nothing wrong!!!! I find it almost humorous that so many people have all this time to worry so much about homosexuals but they don't seem too concerned about the real issues plaguing society. It's a shame and a disgrace.

I have prayed to have God enter my life and be my personal savior, I am trying to become a better person by changing the way I think and feel. It is extreamly hard but I am trying. I read the bible at night. I want to feel the "change" I dont know what to expect. Am I not sincere about what I want? I want to believe that I am. I have been blessed in so many ways this past year that I feel that I need to show my graditute by changing my ways and get to know my God. What do I need to do?

You claim not to believe in God (Allah) because a scientist cannot possibly believe in a Higher Power, science hasn't proved it yadda, yadda, yadda.....
So why would, Albert Einstein, one of the greatest scinetific minds have said "anyone who doesn't believe in God is NOT a scientist"?

Gay guys: What are some ways for a gay guy to be more confident in himself when dealing with other gay guys that he likes (though out of his league....) or just people in general? I have an issue with being more confidence and I really want to change this and be more assertive and not shy introverted all the time, but I almost feel it is my own personality and it can not change. do u think it is a religion such as christianity or jewesh or hindu or such things? do u think that a true muslim who knows Islam orders well be affected by the teachings? how can u do imagine like that?

Islam is a reigions sent by Allah......nobody has touched its Quran...... we oredered to pray for Allah 5 times per day.... an order.......not like u just one day per week or month..... what do u think of Allah? he created us and the time........ he gave us that time.and he has the first right to judge how your time is......and then after all that......u come once per week and u say.hey i will enter the paradise.i am a good man.... what are u saying?Do u have in your religion a very Good stable islamic social and economic system like in islam? I was just curious why some people hate gays so much and have to put them down ? Could it be they're homophobic to a very high degree ? Why don't people realize that people are just people regardless of their sexuality, color or whatever the prejudice is about on that person ? I am sure many blacks , Gays and various types of people fought for this country's freedoms and put their lives on the line so we all could be free to be what we TRULY are inside and how we choose to live our lives which is each individuals' right.

satan used to be a beutiful angel who chose to defy god and was then cast to hell. if i for example choose to mock and deny god and i go to hell, then why would satan want to burn people with his same mentality? we both are rebels and we both choose to think for ourselves. wouldnt hell actualy be a heaven for people who disagree with christianity.

PS. this is a hypothetical question in which i am pretendig that heaven and hell actualy exist. anyody with have a brain would know that these places are scientificaly impossible

Hey gay guys, I'm also a gay guy and have acne scars and feel really self conscious about them. Please be honest and let me know, would you date a guy that has acne scars? So many gay guys seem to be superficial, but I really want to get an idea of how much of a difference this would make in your decision. Also, what physical things are most important in finding what is attractive about a guy. Is clear skin number 1? I mean I've dated guys and even lived with my ex-boyfriend for two and a half years (I'm 27 years old, came out at age 24, and I live in Chattanooga, TN), so I'm not a virgin or anything, but I am very self conscious and feel ashamed to really get out there and meet a new guy. It really affects my self esteem but I would rather guys be honest to let me know where I stand and what my chances are of meeting that special guy.

Many people, especially Christians, use religious language to describe their positions on scientific theories. For example, they "believe" in intelligent design and consider a "fact" to be a proven "theory".

This is not, of course, the nomenclature of science. You do not believe in a theory, you "accept" the theory. A theory is not promoted to a fact when it is proven, a theory is a documented hypothesis to explain the facts. Fact: things fall to grown. Theory: gravity.

What percentage of the American electorate fails to understand this basic vocabulary? Is there a correlation with a failure to understand scientific terms and support for intelligent design?

...to a hill of beans, why oh why would he leave millions to die in natural disasters, the Holocaust, war.... and why would he allow children to be murdered? Children who, surely, were praying not to die - considering that there's simply no escaping religion, especially for impressionable kids?
