In holy Quran Allah said that, " You [true believers in Islâmic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad SAW and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islâm has forbidden), and you believe in Allâh[]. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fâsiqûn (disobedient to Allâh - and rebellious against Allâh's Command). a muslim in my opinion, is whoever accepts islam as the legitimate vehicle through which he can deal with divinity.
all other definitions, including those in the koran itself, are far too vague for this time and day of nomenclature and classification.

meaning
a lot of moslems , while superficially performing all rituals of islam and conforming with its guidelines, actually have no sense of divinity (as an entity creating ,judging man ) and are really no more religious than the members of any social club that has its own set of requirements for membership.

meaning
in the old days one had to be either moslem, christian, jewish or buddhist , polytheist.
today its either religious or atheist.
before deciding what religions we are, we should decide whether there actually is a god (and all that entails)or not.
if we discover their really is a god , all religions will end, because obviously god wouldnt care what way you chose to speak to him or glorify him or by what name you call him.
