Why do some christians who really love God, pray daily, study the Bible, and are very nice people 90% of the time, resort to cursing when they become angry or are involved in a conflict, and end up having to pray for forgiveness over and over? Isn't profanity a sin? I don't think Jesus ever cursed. Does this mean they really aren't Christians, or can they really have a strong belief in God, but just have a bad temper. A quick temper isn't the sign of a saint is it?

Also, if we are all descendents of Adam why does the Christian Right not love all races equally? After all, we are all equally descended from God.

I have not been able to be part of my daughter's life until the last few months, so this will be my first Christmas gift for her.

She's very artistic and is good with computers.

I was going to buy her a computer, but she's building her own in school...now I'm stumped.

A friend just got a ceramic elephant with it's trunk up as a gift from someone who visited India. What is the meaning of this? I have heard that they are meant to be good luck, but they are supposed to be set up in a specific way, any advice is appreciated.

I see a lot of Christians here trying to twist facts and portray atheism as abnormal, misguided, irrational. Can we just be quite clear that it is correct to disbelieve in the truth of any given proposition when there are no valid proofs to confirm it is true, therefore it is logically correct to disbelieve in the existence of God. It is belief based on faith that is illogical and unorthodox, it is the believer who has an obligation to provide the evidence, not the atheist.

I'm not against religion...

Given all the glaring contradictions that the bible offers, why do so many christians choose to over look these and provide all in all pretty irrevelent answers...

I have nothing against faith... but i do have plenty against blind faith.

Does this one question, could an atheist be prolife and antigay marriage, sorta kill the arguement that the religious right is trying to force a bronze age religion down the throat of america?

Don't get me wrong, I'm an atheist and I'm pro-choice and if gays want to invite me to their wedding I'll bring a blender,

I just think its an error in judgement to say "they want to force their religion down us" or whatever it is,

cause there are lots of pro life atheists who are against abortion and they sure as heck aint trying to force THEIR religion down your throat now are they.

Little food for thought on a Sunday morning.

After I read several of your responces and prayers, I sat down and ate breakfast with my fiance and my 3 year old son. During breakfast, something came over me. Something touched my heart. I began to feel as if I was going to cry, which I still dont understand. I stood up quickly. My fiance asked if I was ok. I told her I had to be alone for a minute. This was not planned nor did I really know what was happening to me. I went into the bedroom, locked the door, and fell to my knees. I began sobbing as I reflected on all of the bad things that have been going wrong in my life. I began to pray. This isnt the first time I prayed to God. But that was just it. How was this prayer going to be any different from the previous ones. Something inside of me told me...Talk to God in your own words. I know that I'm a sinner and I know that I haven't been walking the righteous path. How do I approach God? For some reason, I reflected on a particular day last week...

And doesn't fear and unbelief come from guilt and shame. For the way we
think, speak, and behave?
Our Creator doesn't make anybody go to hell.
But our Creator doesn't make anybody go to Heaven either.
Think about it!

It seems like people are always asking thinkgs about God as if he was a man, as if he is one of us, with the same thoughts and actions. "Created in his IMAGE", not with a like mind. God, and his rationale is not like ours. So whether you believe, or are just trying to disprove, God, whatever he is, is not like us, right?
