I wonder that too. Or the people who say you cant trust the translations, but have never bothered to actually research its validity.

I have researched certain passages in the Bible from their original scripts. The commonly held view that Jesus walked on water actually translates to "Jesus walked by the water". Not quite as exciting but never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

This reminds me of when Monty Python's Life of Brian was released in the UK. Dozens of religious leaders attacked the film and demanded it it banned. None of them had seen the movie but made a bias judgement toward it. The film was about an ordinary man who lived at the same time as Jesus and was mistaken for the Messiah.

How dare those non-religious people make bias judgements about the Bible. Religious people would never do that.

Does the questioner live in a state of ignorant denial or is simply a hypocrit?

Hahahaha, I bet you are referring to non-believers, but in my life experience the irony is that "believers" know the least about the bible they profess to believe in. A lot of non-believers know more about it because they HAVE read it. I always say to read it is to disbelieve it.

I know an xtian who has been to church practically every Sunday of her life and is all devoted to it and BS. She claims that the bible actually means grape juice when it mentions wine because that is what her preacher tells her apparently. Too stupid to pick the damn book up and read that is says WINE and that many characters in the Bible get drunk off of this "grape juice" , which could only happen if it was in fact wine.

See what I mean? I know more about the Bible than most xtians because I didn't accept the spoon-fed, watered down version from some preacher and I read it myself instead. It is very sad that most of you don't know that much about the book that you continually thump.

Sadly, some people who believe that the Bible is the Word of God have really annoying ways of trying to spread the word. Door-knocking and stopping people on the street, for example. I reckon the prejudice against the Bible is mostly due to these misguided proselytes.

For me as a Muslim it has been mentioned in Holly Quran that a lot of manipulations has been made to Bible. So, I've to mention these

The second point I've read few pages from it and I found it true that's what has been mentioned in Holly Quran about Bible.

Third: in this forum we have a majority of Christians and I've seen a lot of conflicts about there believes. e.g Trinity , I submitted a Q about it and I had hundreds of answers no body has clear idea about it although it is the core of Christians believes??!!!!!!!!!!!

The same reason they make snap judgements about Jehovah's Witnesses! Ignorance!! I define ignorance as being untaught... as in I am ignorant of German as I have never been taught. Stupid is unteachable. So if people are ignorant (untaught) about the Bible, or Jehovah's Witnesses, or anything else, it's because they have not learned. Only with knowledge comes informed opinions and decisions.

free will again, people without truth choose to judge others.there are lots of christian people who tell those who are not like them
that hell awaits them.same thing with Muslims if you aren`t like
them then your an infedel.I think that the main problem is
DOGMA, people have killed ,enslaved and treated others like dirt for thousands of years. so, if we stop judging others
and live looking for truth,beauty & goodness,everything
will be alright...

Because of how some people interpt the Bible and use it to judge others.
