God is the author of the Bible, the writers wrote as they were inspired by the Holy Ghost. Jesus did not get a mother until Mary accepted the word of the angel.

It is too bad that you only read about a few women in the bible. The virtuous woman in the book of proverb, Dorcas in Acts, Sarah in Gen and more were far cry from been a whore. But definitely was a virgin a one point in their lives. I do hope one would read about them and learn from them some of the principles they demonstrate in an environment where they were not treated equally, as the God of the Bible intended. Keep on reading..

The Bible was made by men. Domineering, right-wing, homophobe men. Their issue and problem with women is that they seem to both reject and desire women at the same time. (Very confusing, huh?) Mainly they wanted to control other people's (again mostly men) minds and bodies to resist their instinctive urges. Mostly probably to control the birth population in societies. Doesn't seem to work, though. Religious teachings or not, a man's instinctive desire for women wins every time.

No, with women at large. Remember that women were barely above furniture at that time. I shudder at the ignorance of the bible writers

Like every man, every woman is either pious or impious. The impious commit indecent acts including fornication and adultery. Whore is a type of impious women. But, my dear Asker what is the question about ? Where does 'Issues with mothers' come into this division of humanity between pious and the impious ?

In Biblical times, a woman's purity was VERY important. It is still very important today in South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. A woman will actually get killed in these countries if they marry and they are not virgins.

Obviously you've not read the book of Judges. Check out the story of Deborah. She ain't your typical lady.
Warning: The book of Judges is the bloodiest book of the Bible. It does contain graphic portrayals of people's deaths.

in the context of the times when it was written the totally sexist writings of the bible can easily be understood. what is strange / amusing / scary is that anyone thinks that any of it has any relevance today.

Things back then weren't that much different than today. You also have to understand that there must be discrepancies here and there,I don't believe the bible is 100% accurate.
