Why is there so much fighting over Abortion, Gay Marriage, and Evolution vs Creationism?

Because some people don't have the capacity to think with their own mind or think that their will should be imposed upon all just because they think so.

Those are all very different issues and you will probably get many answers all along the scale if asking questions on any of those subjects. The reason there is so much fighting is because BOTH sides feel very strongly about these issues. You can't have a fight if only one side is pushing. It's interesting that both sides cannot see that they are mirror images of each other.

Because there are a lot of Christians out there who are getting their daily ethics and values in the 21st century from a book written 2000 years ago.

I have 5 thumbs down so far. Is what I said not true? Do they not read the Bible, and derive how to live from within? Are they not the biggest proponents against abortion and gay marriage? Isn't it the Christians that are calling evolution a lie? (Not all of them, but they are the ones responsible for 'creationism' and 'intelligent design'.)

Well I do not consider this fighting, Enlightening, maybe this is the right word to consider.

1. Abortion - is disobeying God's commandment "THOU SHALL NOT KILL"
2. Gay Marriage - is a blatant reproach to God purpose of procreate
3. Evolution - is denying that there is a Sovereign God who made the heaven and the earth

Because killing babies is worth discussing, and evolution is one of the most radical concepts in the history of mankind, discrediting the faith of millions of people. If we abandon our ancient myths and think logically, I think most people will be pro-life and pro gay marriage.

Because we are living in the end times. Jesus warned us about things to come. Some days you can pick up a newspaper and read a story right out of the book of Revelation. It is scary how often I see good called evil and evil called good...Just like the Bible predicted.

E vs C - because athiest want to teach children that Jesus lied about the beginning of the world, while Christians want Jesus to be portrayed accurately(sinless and God).

Churches and religion are threatened by anything that might get people to drift away or question the narrow teaching of the Churches (any Church).
Church is BIG business! They need to keep people coming with their dollars, they need to keep their tax exempt status, and to do that they need to have loads of people getting all upset about other people's point of views, so they can create an insider/outsider or holy/unholy climate around their "domain."
