The text in question Psalms 137:9
IS NOT GOD ADVOCATING BABY SMASHING.

The author is warning the soldiers and people of Babylon that when someone smashes their babies is will be justice for what they ALREADY did to the Israelites babies.

From the New International version which is easier to understand

Psalm 197:

7 Remember, O LORD, what the Edomites did
on the day Jerusalem fell.
"Tear it down," they cried,
"tear it down to its foundations!"

8 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction,
happy is he who repays you
for what you have done to us-

9 he who seizes your infants
and dashes them against the rocks.


To those of you who misquote this text as an excuse to hate God, TAKE NOTICE. You were MISTAKEN as to what the text really was telling you. YOU WERE WRONG. But if you have a hatred in your heart for religion your mind can't open to comprehend it.

One more instance of proof that those who hate God twist the truth to confuse humans just like SATAN did to Adam and Eve.

Ok, I already asked this question, but maybe there is someone new who can help me. There are some kids at my school who draw little stars on the backs of their hands, on the skin right above their thumbs. I asked a couple of kids why they do it and they told me they only did it because some one else was doing it (Yeah, I know, kinda dumb) I thought it was just something that my school did, but then I saw someone that was not associated with my school and they had the star in the same exact place! Any ideas??? I will listen to any of them.

I think thats where many of you fail to realize why so many people that know what facts are (gravity, math equations, etc) get so frustrated when you vaguely say 'jesus said he is the way and the truth in the bible' and that is fact. No, that is NOT fact, that is merely faith that you want it to BE fact. There is a huge difference, and that my friends, is where the frustration, denial, kicking and screaming begin and end.

It seems to me that Spanish speaking peoples are more religious inclined than their English speaking counterparts, why is this? I got only two answers on my question in English, I think I know the answer; could it be that the TRUTH is hard to face? Are we not willing to assume responsability for the mess in our schools, in our daily living, in our core of beliefs? I just wanted to know if I was rude to this person - I was standing at the bus stop and a guy came there in a few minutes..he began to talk to me about school, courses, and just general things..
he had been talking to me for hardly 10 min. when he asked if i'd like to go for coffee with him sometime later.. and i was a little stunned and told him i wasn't sure - i didn't really want to go because i have a boyfriend. So, do you think i was rude? Or was i right in not going with him because he's a stranger?
