An old saying:
There are no atheists in a fox hole.
During crises people seek God.

rofl. Why do Christians keep doing that? Non Christians wouldn't be thinking about the Rapture. Rapture is biblical which means they'd have to be Christian, doesn't it? Logic is your friend.
Ok, being Wiccan, I'll tell you what I was thinking when 9/11 took place.
I thought it was absolutely terrible. I was scared that my husband (he was living in New Orleans at the time) was going to have a plane run into New Orleans. I cried to see so many people die.
As for the end of the world...
Not to burst your bubble or anything, but the United States ISN'T the world. It's one country on the planet. And it was ONLY the United States that got hit, no other countries.
So you know what? Get over yourself. This is why so many people around the world want to smack the daylights out of Americans. The question you just asked is so incredibly arrogant, there aren't even words.
As for the rudeness of calling people unbelievers... quit it. It's non-Christian. Just because someone isn't Christian doesn't automatically mean they believe in nothing at all.

I quit believing in the rapture years ago, when I started reading my bible. I don't know what the unbelievers were thinking. Are you saying, unbelievers of the rapture? Or people who don't believe in God?
I am certain we all were thinking the same thing. How awful it was to have that happen, and the pain of uncertainty of what would possibly happen next. How you would assume people would instantly think of a rapture, is really kind of illogical. You probably don't realize that the rapture belief is fairly new, in respect to the history of Christianity as a whole. And is only really found in the United States. Before 1820, no one believed in a rapture. Millions of Christians don't believe in a rapture. My church has never nor ever will believe in a rapture.

I think the rapture is very silly. It is kind of like the boogeyman. Since I was a military member on 9-11, I was thinking "oh, s**t, we're going to war." The thought of the rapture never crossed my mind, nor did Nostradamus or any other folklore. I live in reality.

Most non-believers don't even know what the Rapture is, so they definetly wouldn't be thinking about that. Most Christian denominations don't even believe in rapture to begin with. You are aware that the rapture was thought up by a 15 year old girl in Scotland during the 19th century, right?

I guess that makes you a Muslim eh? So by unbeliever you mean anyone who doesn't think just like you... that's a good way to be.
I think the idea of the rapture, for the Christians anyway, would be a blissful thing first, and then terror for the rest of us, so i don't think any of them thought it was the rapture.
Myself, i thought it was exactly what it turned out to be. A bunch of psychopaths flying planes into buildings. Grow a brain and use it please, for all of us.

The rapture is a lie.
I was not "trembling or shaking scared". I ate breakfast and went to work like most everyone else who is rational and responsible.

why would unbelievers think it was the rapture? if they dont subscribe to your paradigm, they wouldn't assume your end of the world came to pass. Did you think it was Ragnarok? Be serious, ask instead how many believers were dissapointed when they found out that 9-11 wasn't it, and that they still had to be chaste and pray?

Yeah...
I don't think so.
That doesn't even begin to make sense. Since when is the rapture supposed to involve planes crashing into people? They said that god works in mysterious ways, not retarded ones. So even if I *did* believe in that fairy tale garbage, what would it have to do with 9-11?

I'm not really clear on who would consider to be a "believer" in that scenario.
Were the people in the planes unbelievers? How about the buildings? Maybe the firemen who ran into the inferno were unbelievers and not worthy of your approval. Perhaps the police who were buried as the towers collapsed were not concerned with your religious convictions, or with the religion of the people they were trying to save, and therefore should be chastised by you for not maintaining the proper reverence for life as your judgemental religion claims.
And, when death comes for you, my dear, will you welcome your trip to God and Jesus with open arms? Or trembling and shaking at the possibility of a damnation taught by your religion?
Bless you, anyway.

It would take more than that to make me tremble with fear. And I was thinking at the time, I hope the people traped inside would get rescued. And then the buildings came down and killed 343 fire fighters. Where was your god?
