Give him a hug tell him that there´s no problem, if you really feel so.

He did something very brave, and must hold a high respect for you. (It was his cry in the dark, a cry for respect, he wanted you to know because he has a long journey ahead and trusted you first.... wow, you are a priveladged person but a person with responsibility to accept at this point and extend the hand of friendship)

I don't think this should matter to you, he's still the same person.
I would make light of it and say something along the lines of " That would be right, your not the first one I've turned"
Just let him know it doesn't matter to you and you enjoy him as your friend.

It's what he does, not who he is. Or you could take the wind out of his sails and write back saying "Yeah, I know". I did that to a friend of mine. He wanted to know how I knew, so I said his boyfriend was a bit of a giveaway.

Accept him as he is. Nothing has changed about him, that fact that he came out the closet and told you shows how much he trusts you.

Be supportive. If you are the first person he has "come out" to he is probably looking for approval that it is okay and confidence to come out to others.

Be honest with him? That's usually a good tactic.
