I grew up with a religion in my family but my parents arent that religious... This 6 years, i've never practice my religion anymore.. I just still believe in God, that's all...

Now i meet a guy with different religion as mine, and i think i want to be with him forever.. He doesnt mind with my religion, but i know he prefers me to convert, his family also think the same..
But i know for sure as well, that my family wouldnt agree me to convert the religion I have since i was little..

I really dont have any idea at all about this. Do i really want to convert and practice a religion that i have never thought before do that i will have, and be with him or do i want to let him go and stay with my religion which i never practice and care actually?

So do me a favor to give any idea or suggestions...?

THANKS A LOT

One of the things that always bothers me is when i hear of someone suriving a car wreck or a gunshot wound... sometimes even something much less significant they exclaim "it was a miracle" or claim that somehow divine intervention was involved. Now, why would god favor these people over anyone else? What about the children that god never lifts a finger to save? Can we admit to ourselves that sometimes people just get very lucky? Why must such a selfish statement as "it was a miracle *I* survived" be made... as if that someone was more important than the little girl in town who was raped, murdered, and dumped in a ditch.

if jesus was god, then why would he bother praying to god?
Throughout the gospel, Jesus prays to god and speaks of himself as being separate from god, but people still believe they are the same.

Jesus does also say that he and the father are one, but doesnt the bible speak in the same way about married people?

What do you think?

But if you pray for the benefit of others, you see it fulfilled, more often than not. Why is that? Is that the way God is teaching us to be selfless?

I just recently came out of the closet. The main reason I just couldn't do it before was I felt I couldn't have a normal life. I've always wanted to be married, and just live a happy life with the person I love. Why isn't everyone guaranteed the same rights? Why does it seems like everyone just pretends gay people don't exist and the issue will just go away? This government is built on the foundation of equality. Those with Christian arguments have no real grounds in the political arena (or shouldn't). You can have marriage in any other way you like! (Muslim, Atheist, Buddhist) All legally with the absence of Christian principles. Gay people get married every day, and most of the time it's with someone ordained. I WANT MY CIVIL RIGHTS PEOPLE!

The bible says often that no person is without sin, and nobody is good in the eyes of the lord because every one of us is a sinner. I understand that part. What I don't understand is why we need to apologize to God for being exactly the way he made us? Essentially what Christianity says is that we are all sinners no matter what we do, so in the eyes of Lord, the person who tries their best to not ever sin but occasionally slips up is worse than the person who sins more often but always repents and believes in God. I don't know why but that just sounds dumb to me?

Do you believe that famous televangelists should be held to a higher standard because of their fame? I ask this in light of the Ted Haggard scandal.

Has anyone ever heard of the devil riding your back while you're sleeping? If so exactly what does that mean?

Deuteronomy 21:20
"and they shall tell the elders of his city, "This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard."
Deuteronomy 21:21
"All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear."

Exodus 21:7
"If a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do."

Exodus 35:2
"Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of solemn rest to Yahweh: whoever does any work in it shall be put to death."

1 Corinthians 11:14
"Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears his hair long it is a shame unto him?"

If you believe that your god is infallible, you can't throw out some of the rules, just because you don't like them.

Last week Pastor Ted Haggard admitted to sexual misconduct and the purchase of illegal drugs. Will forgive him because he is a christian or hold him to his wrong doings?
