I think he needs to focus more on what God gave him (his family) and less on telling others how to lead their lives - for awhile, at least.

If a pastor can't lead his own home, how can he lead a congregation?

I think a Pastor is able to preach from the pulpit (with ALL his imperfections) just like the sinners in the pews are able to sit there and listen!

I have seen this scenario play out before in a church and the deacons actually attempted to intervene and force the Pastor to save his marriage. However, the reality was, the Pastor was in his mid twenties, had gotten the lady pregnant and was sort of coerced into marrying her to begin with; BAD IDEA! No one should marry, if they don't have true reason for wanting to spend the rest of their lives together, cause we all know, a child is not going to be the glue in a marriage!

Too many times, congregations put Pastors on pedestals, as if they cant make mistakes or have a "fall down" moment. I am not saying that there are any excuses for adultery, molestation, drug use, homosexuality and the list goes on; in terms of ALL the many things we have heard about plagues the pulpits of many a Pastor these days. But, I am saying, we have to remember to extend forgiveness and grace to these Pastors...WHY? Because we want that same grace and forgiveness for ourselves when we sin!

how soon we forget our own mess, when we eagerly get ready to point out someone else's...

Actually Protestant ministers/pastors have one of the highest rates of divorce. Presumably this is why the Bible strongly recommends that full time ministers of the Church be unmarried, lest they become divided, torn between their family responsibilities and their clerical responsibilities.

He's human. His wife is human. All the members of his family are humans.

If you are looking for a church with a perfect pastor, you will be looking all your life.

Well considering that the bible he is using to preach from does not allow for divorce, then I would say that he should be outed from his position as Pastor.

Even if the divorce is for acceptable reasons (infidelity), he should probably step aside for a while. If the divorce is not biblical, he should not be a pastor.

Sounds like a contradiction in his beliefs. So much for the statement till death do us part. Preachers one thing and does another.

IT IS SO SAD .THAT PEOPLE PICK APART THE BIBLE .AND FOLLOW THE RULES THEY LIKE.
THE BIBLE IS GODS HOLY WORD.
PASTORS WILL ANSWER FOR WHAT THEY DO BEFORE THE FLOCK OF GOD.
