So, Hitler was Christian. People of a specific faith does nothing to the faith.

I see the message in MM's songs as criticizing the worst of Ameria's false commercialized culture.

So I would agree the underlying message is actually consistent with Christian and Buddhist teachings, warning against the ills of selfish material desires that cause human suffering, especially when taken to self-destructive extremes.

However, the presentation of this message exploits this very trend toward commercialized hype, so that monetary profit is made off the very culture being criticized. This irony is part of the art form, and makes a very strong statement in itself.

If more of the profits from MM's music went to charitable causes, it would be more clear that a spiritual life of "charity" is part of his purpose. Otherwise, he gives the impression of the
opposite camp, and obviously makes a good living at it.

P.S. For a Christian message set to "Rock is Dead" by MM
see also http://www.houstonprogressive.org/reformation.html

If anyone out there thinks you can get him to record this for a video sountrack, let me know. I will gladly host a letter-writing contest and give prizes to whomever succeeds in convincing him to do so. If he's truly Christian, maybe he would....

"Reformation" to the tune of "Rock is Dead"

The message is simple
The Master you choose is
Mammon or God
It's either Jesus or Judas
You sell out your neighbor
For pieces of silver
Promising rights that
You never deliver

Indulgences for sale
Pay your way to hell

Laws - are given by God
Not - political fraud
Consent of the Governed
Is what we demand
The just power of Justice
Lies in our hands

God made people equal . . . .

Congress - shall not make our laws
Courts - ain't the Word of God
Congress - shall not make our laws
Courts - ain't the Word of God

The pressure of trials
Driven to drink
Thousands of lawyers
Paid not to think
Winning their cases
Losing their souls
Praying to Caesar
To seize more control

Anything is legal
Criminal is civil

Laws - are spoken by prophets
Not - by puppets in office
Freedom of speech
Is not a defense
When you've got to worship
The pope on the bench

Why aren't people equal?

Congress - shall not make our laws
Courts - ain't the Word of God
Guns - don't enforce the laws
Christ - rules with an Iron Rod

Congress - shall not make our laws
Courts - ain't the Word of God
Guns - don't enforce our laws
Christ - rules with an Iron Rod

The message is simple
The Master you choose is
Mammon or God
It's either Jesus or Judas

The Question in Life
The Way of the Buddhas
The Laws are all written
You know what the Truth is:

Laws - are spoken by prophets
Not - by puppets in office
Freedom and Justice
It's all in our hands
Consent of the Governed's
The Law of the Land

Rights - are given by God
Not - by government fraud
Freedom of Speech
Is what we demand
The Gavel of Justice
Lies in our hands

You can't be born a Christian, everyone are born sinners. We have to repent of our sins and accept Jesus to become a
Christian, and you cant do that until you are OLD ENOUGH to understand, so a newborn baby, nah, can't happen.
But, if he said he's a Christian and all the antics are just the job, why not, but, only he and God truly know.

It wouldn't surprise me too much. But as of a few years ago, he was calling the Bible a fairy tale. So I doubt he is, unless he converted recently.

[edit] Don't be silly. You need to provide some evidence of that. I saw Manson on Bill Mahr's Politically Incorrect comparing the Bible to Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat.

"Hopefully, I’ll be remembered as the person who brought an end to Christianity." (Spin, August 1996, p. 34)

I say he doesn't know the meaning of the word, and like the Bible says there will be people in Hell that called themselves christian, you can say all day you are christian, but you have to walk the walk if you are going to talk the talk, and he's walking with the Devil...because he talks the words of the Devil
