18:50 Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!

acording to the above verse
the command was not directed at satan but at the angels only.
satan was not an angel but ajinn
So he never broke any command.
it is like:
THE TEACHER CAME TO THE CLASS AND SAID: I WANT ALL THE BOYS TO STAND UP. ALL THE BOYS STOOD UP EXCEPT FATUMA.SHE WAS ONE OF THE GIRLS AND SHE BROKE THE COMMAND OF THE TEACHER.
now what command has fatuma broken?
Can the teacher punish fatuma for not standing up?
so in the same way what command has SATAN broken when the command was not directed at him.
And how can he be punished ?
Thanks

Some people are just so annoying, and don't like you, or treat you bad, which make you feel so uncomfortable aroud them. It's easier to just ignore them and stay out of their business,, vice versa. But what if you have to work with them, or have to stay with them?

What's the best way to deal with them?

Do you pray before you eat? If you do, do you also pray in the way you do in the mosque...you know, going down on your knees then your face? And when you're in the mosque, do you start all prayers off by saying' Allahu Akbar', and then do all of you say the same prayers or ones that you feel like saying?

And with all those minarets, are they used for calling people to prayer? If so, why have more than one?

P.S. how do you say 'thank you' in arabic?

thanks

Heroism in today's popular culture.
What's everyone's opinions?
I'm writing a paper about it, any links or ideas would be appreciated!
Harry Potter, Spiderman, heck "Grey's Anatomy"'s doctors save people's lives, well in tv land.
What do you define as a Hero? Which qualifications do they possess? Are they ALL flawed?

Possible placements for the choir loft:

1. In the balcony, out of the congregation's sight.
2. In the chancel area, to one side of the altar.
3. In the chancel area, split onto both sides of the altar
4. In the center of the chancel area (behind a central pulpit).
5. No choir loft (choir sits in the congregation).
6. I prefer having no choir.

Which do you prefer and why?

Hi all Yahoo-ers,.. I wanted to ask how to say things like,.. "Hello/Hi!", and,... "Goodbye", also; "thankyou",.. "Hope to hear from you soon".
I should point out, that I would be speaking to females,... whether it's any different for the sexes, I don't know but thought I should mention it anyway.
Thanks! :)

A severe shortage of would-be adoptive parents has led to a campaign by the NCH children’s charity to attract men and women in their forties who may have left it too late to start a family.

About 6,000 children are said to be waiting for adoption but fewer than 10 % of adopters are over 45.

NCH allows men and women in their fifties to adopt but a poll carried out by ICM for the charity says that two thirds of those questioned feel over forty is too old to adopt.

What about David Karesh and Jim Jones....

They claimed they were the Messiah and had a handfull of nutbags themselves following them around...

Some say that Karesh arose from the flames....

You can't prove Jesus arose in 3 days.... it is hear-say! Waht evidence do you have... excluding the fiction book known as the Bible you have none...

There are 100's of book that speak of George Washington and Ben Franklin...

Only one talks about your Jesus!!

I noticed how christians(not all) like to trash muslim becoz of the crimes that are commited in the name of islam. And i think its ironic that they should do this coz christians use to do the samething in the name of there believe, even killing fellow christians. And jews also made war in the name of their faith(check the bible) and there was also a time when the 12tribes were fighting each other.

So honestly, wher do you (some christians, jews)get your idea that your religion is better or the true one if your "ancestors" were guilty of the same crimes? Seriuosly shouldn't you know better, shouldn't you try to provide help, guidance and to sympathise and assist those muslims that are against these crimes?

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I just think that it shows how superficial and ignorant some people can be.

Also do you believe that we are the highest form of life ever (bar anything angelic or divine)?

I keep seeing evidence that people who believe this don't give a damn about any other animals than humans and that they are even offended at the thought that we are mammals, let alone animals.

Is this just them drawing the wrong conclusion, when they hear the word animal they think something with no morals or thought for others?

A University professor at a well-known institution of higher learning challenged his students with this question.
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes sir, he certainly did," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything; then God created evil.
And, since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil."
The student became quiet and did not answer the professor's hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said, "May I ask you a question, professor?"
"Of course", replied the professor.
The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"
The other students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460F) is the total absence of heat; and all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light.'
The professor sat down.
The young man's name -- Albert Einstein
