What about David Karesh and Jim Jones....

They claimed they were the Messiah and had a handfull of nutbags themselves following them around...

Some say that Karesh arose from the flames....

You can't prove Jesus arose in 3 days.... it is hear-say! Waht evidence do you have... excluding the fiction book known as the Bible you have none...

There are 100's of book that speak of George Washington and Ben Franklin...

Only one talks about your Jesus!!

Rule #1, sister: Christians are irrational.

I'm sure since early humans first invented the ideas of gods, there have been some people claiming to be descended from them. The pharoahs of egypt all believed they were divine for one thing.

It is just pure twisted luck that dictates that there are still many many people believing in the divinity of that one Jesus when all the other contenders are for the most part forgotten or simply dismissed. Could have been anyone really... but it just happened to be him.
O'course, if you try to convince the christians of that.... Well.... Its like trying to convince a goldfish to get a bit of fresh air.

One book, but many writings. Don't forget, that one book contains 4 gospels, writen by four different men who all recounted the same things (and that's quite impossible to do), and a history of the acts of the followers after Jesus's death, resorection, and assention into heaven. You say Jesus doesn't exist, but for a figement of so many's imagination, they were willing to die for him.

100's of books may speak of George Washington and Ben Franklin, but you have to think of time periods and supplies available. there wasn't a lot of writing supplies back in Jesus' time, only the wealthy could afford it. So the average man, the ones that Jesus would have interacted with, couldn't put everythign in writing.

I believe in Jesus and I take offense to you calling him a nutcase. We all know you opinion on Christianity. You make your hatered clear many times a day. Go bug someone else!

You seem very angry. You're not going to convert any Christians with mere angst. You should read a little more. The thing most people don't realize is that word bible originaly meant "a collection of books." So somebody, hundreds of years ago, collected his favorite books about Jesus into one book. He also left out many of the others he felt didn't strictly adhere to his message. Effectively creating the book Christians put so much stock in and you seem to have quite a problem with.

To answer your question, there is no way Jesus was the first person to claim he was directly descended from God. He was just the one with the most violent, vicious and selfrighteous followers. These people are very dangerous. Remember the Spanish Inquisition? The Crusades? It's best not to upset them. I'm not saying you should respect them. I'm saying if you don't let them THINK you respect them you could get hurt. These people run the world.

Well, I'm pretty sure, the people who run the world don't actually believe, but they know they have to pretend they do in order to control the masses.

President George Washington, First President of the United States

“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible.”

Evidence? How about no body..To discredit the Resurrection the Romans and the Jews would have produced a body and ended it all. Why would the 10 apostles die for a lie if they hid the body.
There are more documents about Christ and the Bible then there are about Washington and Franklin. Check your facts

Jesus may not have been the first and will not be they last to say he was the Son of God, but he was the first and will be the only one to fulfill all the prophecies about the messiah.

I understand your problem with those of us that believe, but you could try to understand that it is not just a belief system it is who we are. We Know Jesus on a personal level, he is our friend, he comforts us and loves us so much he died for us.

I would never force you to believe that and without an open heart you can never know that love, but it is still there for you when you are ready. I hope some day you will call on his name and ask him to come into your heart.

He will because he died for you also.

God Bless.

Yeshua never claimed to be the son of God. That was a bunch of claptrap dreamed up by the Romans. Yeshua claimed to be, and actually was of the House of David and the Kingly Messiah of the Hebrews which meant that he was a Prince, much like Prince Charles, and Messiah meant that he was next in line to be King of the Hebrews.

I am not sure how to answer your question. But David Karesh and Jim Jones...what have they done in the world of man? They preached? On whose authority? Jesus or somebody else?
As for me...I think they are one of the many fake messiahs yet to come.
Sorry for any offence.
Only one talks about your Jesus!! < Because He is our only Lord, that's it.
At the end of your life, you may get your answer for sure.
See you there.

There are other books that talk of Jesus. The famous Jewish historian, Josephus, mentioned him, for one. Tho, it is known by Jewish scholars that Josephus wrote in tabloid style, and often about what he had heard-not what he had seen.

In Jewish history, there have been those who claimed to be the Messiah. But, none have claimed to be the son of G-d. In Jewish concept, the Messiah is not to be of G-d, but a man-a human with the ability to be the Messiah.

Faith.... it is faith that tells me that George Washington, Ben Franklin, Richard the Loin heart, Moses, Mohammad, Jesus,.... lived. I / you cannot see these people, touch them, all we have are books and it is by faith that you say that any people existed. Can you show me George Washington???? No, just what people have written about him and I dare say that all of what is written about George is not correct. So yes, I cannot prove anything written about Jesus not can you "prove" anything about George.

firstly I think you should be more sensitive to the religious feelings of others and not use words like nutcase to describe the Son of God, and to answer your question many have claimed to be the Messiah before and even after Jesus and have been forgotten because there was no substance or truth to their claim.
Jesus is the only one to faithfully fulfill all the prophets description of Him to the letter,He is the only one to have backed up His message with genuine miracles(not parlour tricks as the rest have done) and He is the only one to have died on the cross and rose from the dead, after He Himself prophesied to the Pharisees that He would.
