In Matthew 5:48; Jesus says "So be perfect, just as your Heavenly Father is perfect." Jesus told us to be perfect but I think it's humanly impossible. We can try our best but there are days when we aren't because of selfishness, egos, pride, jealously, anger, etc. Why would Jesus put such a high demand on us if He knew what it was to be human and how often we are tempted? Did He give us an unreachable goal? If we were to be perfect like God is, then wouldn't we be God?

Can anyone clarify this verse for me? Explain to me what 'perfect' means here? I'd appreciate real, faithful answers but if you are not a believer, just please don't be rude. Thanks!

I read a magazine article earlier today by an atheist neurologist who wrote a book "debunking" religion. He said his next book would "debunk" free will. So I was just wondering if most atheists tend to be determinists when it comes to phenomena in the natural world. Do atheists generally tend to have a materialistic veiw of the mind? In other words, do they tend to see the mind as nothing more than a "machine" made of "meat"?

I think all of you out there been heard of the Santa Claus site with the US radar as the proof. I went in that site and everything there seem so real. In May, I sent a mail to Santa Claus and I received a reply mail from him. Santa said "Spring is just upon us on" in that mail. Can I know Spring falls on which month?

Some people believe Santa comes from the other planet. Some of them believe he lives in the North-Poles. They said the governemt is the one who cover the secret of the situation of Santa.

I'm a non-Muslim woman and learn about Islam from my friends, and I think that's great. But I still not comfortable with the public beheading execution under shariah law.

Suppose I kill someone with cold blood. The victim family refuse to forgive me. If so, is there any other way to avoid me from public beheading execution?

If there are no other way for me but to get executed by public beheading, do you think I'm really deserve of this kind of execution? Morever I'm a woman. I think imprisoned is what I deserve for my crime.

If you think I deserve of public beheading what make this humane for me? I imagine kneeling waiting for executioner decapitate my head and die headless is horrible. Morever in public which everybody see me get beheaded will embarass me a lot

Last, I been told that soul of Muslim victim may have get some pardon after they are execute. As non-Muslim woman, will my soul also get pardon after my public beheding execution

It seems apparent to me that the Western conception of God has run a monopoly over the broad subject of religion and spirituality. Many people seem to turn away from God or base general inquiries into spirituality on the Bible as the only source of higher wisdom. Why do traditions such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism seem to have their abstract views about the cosmos fall right past many people? Is it lack of exposure to Eastern thouhgt, or are many westerners too dense to grasp eastern conceptions?

I’m not interested in what you think they should do to change themselves, I am curious what you think when you see someone who is anywhere from chubby to morbidly obese. Do you think less of this person? If so why?

We all have things of pain in our lives and if you don't mind sharing what is the cross you carry? Mine is unsaved loveones, that think they are ok. They do not show any desire for the things of God. This is my cross.
