So whats the real deal?

Since all systems of human thought are based on axioms...or assumptions...what are the axioms of atheism? What has made you decide that there is no God? Is your starting assumption that there is no God? I'm just genuinely curious. I guess what I'm really wondering is: Why do some atheists say that disbelief in God is logical? Have they convinced themselves that there is no God by following their "axioms" to that particular conclusion? Also, note that by God I don't necessarily mean the God (or gods) of Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, or any particular religion...just God in general.

I've always been attracted to my best friend. Every year that goes by I want to kiss her more and more and more. I know she must have sensed, one time or another, that I like her in a special way. I do try my best at all times to behave myself and be indifferent. I tell myself, stop touching her. Stop putting your hand on her shoulder, slapping her knee when she says something funny. The thing is I do love penis. I love men in general. And I've never experimented with a girl before but I have always been curious. I actually don't want to kiss any other girl. Only my best friend. It kills me inside slowly. I try my best not to see her too much. The thing is, I think she has a little curiousity herself, about me? About girls in general? But I know she is Far Far more straight than I, and loves guys. And I know an actual kiss wouldn't be right 4 us. I just want it to go away. I don't know how much longer I'll be able to do this. Did I mention she's the bestes friend ever!

Do you find the rationale of being told you should move on, despite being subjected to rude behavior, in the name of maturity and the best interest of yourself and others, a sufficiently valid recommendation, or an excuse for unwarranted rude behavior?

I've been told and seen many times that this means "One who is like God", breaking the name into
"Me"= "Who" "Ka"="Like" "El"=God

However, I was taught to believe that it means "The Right Hand of God", breaking the name into:
"Micha"="right-hand" and "El"= God.

I think that "Me" and "Mi" are two different things.
I hope that someone who knows Hebrew answers this.
Which is the correct one?

These relatives of mine were atheists but then became religious believing that it would bring them luck in their business venture. They are doing well and making lots of money so now they became full fledged religious wackos. If their business went south, they'd no doubt dump the religion for sure.

In studying various topics about Christianity and Islam over the years I will never forget an article I came across on the topic of racism. It was called: “Children of a White God” and the author was Matthew C. Ogilvie. The very first sentence in his essay was particularly striking.

He writes:

It is common knowledge that Islamic extremism has been associated with numerous terrorist attacks around the world. It remains, though, that racist Christian theologies have also animated violent movements. One key example concerns the Oklahoma City bombing. Bomber Timothy McVeigh has been connected to white supremacist movements such as White Aryan Resistance and the Christian Identity Movement, both of which promote racist theology.

Well, this was news to me at the time. I remembered that the majority of slavery in the United States had been justified by Christians in the past, but certainly, I thought, this was over. I thought this was just the ignorance of poorly educated Christians of old. But as I read the words in this mans essay, I began to realize that indeed, there were several Christian sects who taught racist theologies to this day, and such theologies resulted in countless acts of terrorism in the world.

As seen above, there were two listed Christian groups who taught racism: the White Aryan Resistance and the Christian Identity Movement. The Christian Identity movement is of particular concern. Christian Identity is a collection of churches which teach racist theologies. According to Wikipedia, there are roughly 350,000 members of the Christian Separatist movements.

Wikipedia also states:

A relatively new tenet gaining popularity among some radical Christian Identity believers justifies the use of violence if it is perpetrated in order to punish violators of God’s law, as found in the Bible and interpreted by Christian Identity ministers and adherents. This includes killing interracial couples, abortionists, prostitutes, and homosexuals.

There is a 350,000 member-strong Church that believes killing interracial couples in the name of God in order to punish “violators of God’s law” is a principal doctrine. But the Muslim need not look for cluster bombing in America. No, no, no. There is no need to even wonder if any Christians are being held for years in prison without charge for “security reasons”. There is no call by the U.S. government to wiretap churches. Well, all these things are being perpetrated upon Muslims and in Muslim lands, no such call has been made in America for the Christians. With such a title as the “war on terror” one wonders why there is no “war on Christian terror” but only a “war on Muslim terror”. One wonders why the media isn?t bombarding homes with phrases like ?Christian terrorists? but everyone has heard the term “Muslim terrorists”. A 350,000 member strong terrorist Christian organization running in America, right here at home, and no one bats an eye. Maybe it?s just me, but when I hear that THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND PEOPLE SEE IT AS THEIR GOD GIVEN DUTY TO KILL BLACK PEOPLE and these same people MIGHT LIVE NEXT DOOR?I tend to get a little jittery. This sends shivers up and down my spine. But maybe none of the non-racist Christians, and maybe none of the U.S. Government officials see these 350,000 people as a credible threat?because, let?s be honest?they don?t have weapons of mass destruction like Saddam, right?

Wrong.

Oral intercourse or pre-marital vaginal intercourse? I was raised in a Roman Catholic enviorment and I was taught that only prostitutes perforemed or recieved oral sex. However, I have noticed that many of my friends practice oral sex and they don't see anything wrong with it as long as they remain virgins. I just want to prove my friends wrong by showing them evidence that supports what I have been taught on the matter. I think oral sex is wrong and gross!

first let's get a definition "Itch Scratching"- a slang term meaning not strings sex between friends, just to get over the urge.

Now that we understand, what do you think? I mean no strings sex between 2 consenting adults who are not in current relationships.

I think it is fine, so long as it is protected with the upmost care regarding STD's and the like, you know sometimes you aren't looking for a relationship, just a night of rambunctious sex.

I am not looking for any crap about no sex befor marriage or any other such prudish religious beliefe, just cold disection of the subject and your thoughts on it.

The term "non-denominational" makes me think of a church that has no leadership and no organization. For example, if I went to a non-denom church in L.A., called the ABC Church, and I moved across the country to N.Y., would I be able to find the same ABC Church there, or any church at all that teaches the same exact doctrine as the ABC Church in L.A.?

Do any two non-denominational churches teach the same doctrine? If they do, doesn't that make them a denomination? Furthermore, do any non-denominational churches claim to be God's one and only true church? If so, which one(s)?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions here, but I would like to know exactly what it means to be non-denominational. Thanks.

I met gi rl a at my friends "get together", just a bunch of us hanging out. anyways, we got in the pool and started flirting more and more. She turned me on and i got pretty hard. Well, i could tell she was into me, so i started pushing against her/rubbing up on her. It was frustrating because i couldn't tell if she cared/liked it, or what...my question is, do you gi rls like feeling a guy's "hardness" on you? or would just freak you out?
